Urban doe only hunt. Jumped one deer on the way in. Had two walkers at 100 yards. The bad thing about a nice weather day in ND, every one is out. Last week was -15 for a high on NY eve. Today is 32 f with nw wind of 15 mph.

Last week I saw over 10 deer. 4 bucks.

Trees are popping today. Coming out of bitter cold snap and they thaw a little.

I will see if I can figure out how to hold my phone.

Good luck! Trees are popping here too in Ohio!

The deer can be moving at any time. If I hear people, you have to be ready for spooked deer. Generally they just circle within cover. Some deer will cross the river from MN so activity is pretty “fluid “

Had a fawn pass just out of range. With 2 tags, any bald deer is fair game.

Brian, I'm sure that you are on the eastern border of ND. What river are they crossing? I would think that it is the Cheyenne because the Red is to fast. I grew up southwest of Fargo and did some hunting in the Sand hills. Haven't lived there since 1967.

Well, no deer in range. Had 3 more come out. I had one blowing behind me that I couldn't see. Two of them eventually went below the stand I was in 2 weeks ago. I zig and they zag. I had to wait a few minutes until they cleared.

Merle- It is the Red that they cross. Plenty cold enough to build ice. I wouldn't cross it, but I do walk the bank. The deer have no issues in crossing it once the snow builds up so it isn't so slick. They are spots that the Red is open, but none near where I hunt. One of the things I worry about this time of year is shooting a buck that shed his antlers. (I have done it once) Legal but they want the doe numbers controlled.

I will be out next weekend. But if it is 0 or below, I won't be posting a live hunt. Too hard to manipulate phone with no gloves.
