How did the mule deer survive the winter south of Billings Montana? If winters over!

They held a late CWD survey season south of Billings this winter. Killed several hundred mule deer so that will help survival. Haven't heard bad things about that area. It's the north and east that may be the worst. On the Blackfeet Reservation the estimate is over 3,000 cattle killed so you can imagine the wildlife losses. Worst part is that winter is hanging on and they are estimating feeding of cattle will have to continue until June.
