Great fun watching that video from last trip with Rob! Have a fun hunt!
Best of luck Pat! Hold out, you have to break 190! Ha ha ha! Enjoy it.
Have a great time! Look forward to the updates
Nice, we finally get the score of that buck! Looking forward to following along.
I still chuckle every time I remember you telling me the story of the first time that you met Rob Nye!! Hook, line, and sinker.....
"Best of luck Pat! Hold out, you have to break 190! Ha ha ha! Enjoy it."
I was thinking the same thing... 200+ only Pat :)
Dunno how you could top that hunt.
Looking forward to following your hunt....thanks
Good weather for it, nice and cool but not to cool, good luck
Good luck Pat - just realized you never hunted there in 2017 - Rob had enough of you killing his top bucks?
Good luck Pat. Love following along on these hunts.
Good luck! Hope you packed warm clothes! Colder than H E double toothpicks here in MN.

I bet he sure has some fun trying! ;-) Good luck Pat!
Good luck! I'm looking forward to following along!
BTW, Your link to the outfitter at the bottom of the day 1 page brought me to Wards website.
Hey Pat, watch where you put your gloves this year.
Is there really a reason to check this thread before the last hour of the last day?
Good luck Pat!
Do a snake check before u get into the blind!!!!
Ooph, not a great tune Pat. My sympathies... Wait, you are spending a bunch of day's deer hunting in Sask... I take it back. Hopefully the Macarena pops into your head after reading this... Or... Rock N' Roll Chicken... Yeahhhhhh Woowwwww.... :)
I’m with pav but I’ll still check often!
I used to think the lyrics were "hold me closer Tony Danza".
I'm pretty sure he's singing about a dude.
Ok Pat. That was a update without a update. More details! Glad you're seeing some deer. Any decoy action?
Nice action and range of ages. Curious to know if there are any active wolf packs in the area?
Just don't have your, "tiny dancer in your hand". That would be inappropriate.
Wow, those are some great bucks.
We're here rootin' for ya Pat!
Pretty incredible to see two 4.5 year old bucks in the same day. Cold temps in mid October is about the most perfect bait situation a guy could hope for I would think. In November you've got ladies pulling them all over the place but now they are bulking up and with cold temps - in for a great hunt.
Nice start to your hunt !
Good luck - I get there on the 27th! Love hunting with Rob, Murray and crew. Keep up the pics i'm getting excited to see so many bucks on the move.
good luck, sounds like you already had good luck, seeing that many bucks in one day and a couple of mature ones. Nice. Enjoy and shoot straight.

Beautiful pics Pat. When you see that main beam of the bigger four 1/4" from the other bucks eye as they are "playing" not hard to see how a buck gets blinded if they were to go at it for real.
Good luck Pat ! If you do top your last two, be sure to loosen your hatband. Don't want you fainting and falling out of the tree....
I kind of took you for more of a Justin Bieber fan.
Pat, Are wolves in season? Do you have a tag? How close did it get to you?
Oh man - love to see the video of that buck making a rub!!!
Only downer to having stayed up late enough to catch the day two update is now there’s nothing new for me in the morning :(
Crazy how they come to the same bait pile multiple times in a day!
New stand for tomorrow! Get some new scenery. They seem to be active up there
it will happen .................up to twenty bucks around your bait............something will be in the eat that interests you before this thing ends. just a matter of time.
https://youtu.be/yYcyacLRPNs Just for Pat.
Are you in a treestand or groundblind?
This is great! Great action so far!
Don't forget to post photos of the nine and ten point that were tagged when time allows....
That wolf stuff is pretty crazy, surprised the deer didn't vacate the area for weeks...
My hunting partner, Keith, and I used to hunt, not far south of where Pat is, in October for many years with bows. We're from Alberta and, at that time, could buy a tag and go hunt. Saskatchewan changed the rules a few years ago so Canadian nonresidents need to apply in a draw and we haven't been drawn for many years now. Really miss those October bowhunts. Wolves were something we dealt with many times. The deer did react to them, but didn't complete leave the area. On one of those trips I shot a buck one evening that we decided to recover in the morning due to the shot placement. We found the deer early the next day but, as we approached the deer in heavy timber, heard something move off. We thought it may have been a bear, they were always in the area, but the deer hadn't yet been touched. After a few photos Keith left to bring the truck closer while I got to work on the deer. Keith was 75 yards away when I heard something coming toward me from the opposite direction. Within a few moments a black Wolf popped out of the timber less than 5 yards away. I had my knife in my hand but certainly had no thought of using it to defend myself. Honestly, the experience was exciting but I never felt in any danger. The Wolf spotted me and immediately spun and ran off. A neat experience. We certainly could have taken a few Wolves over the years in that area, but nonresidents weren't allowed. The area farmers sure wish we could have taken a few. The area deer and livestock were certainly affected by the high number of Wolves.
I love those big 8's. I'd have a very hard time not shooting that thing. Good luck on day 3.
I just can't get into hunting over bait and passing on bucks that most people would consider trophies.
Good luck Pat, seems like you are in the middle of the action.
That would be really hard to pass up that chocolate horned mainframe 8 point. Perfect deer to me. Love them dark racks!
Bring on the pics! Deer or wolves!
Mark
Ok, maybe I'm just a hack from New England, but I'm hopeful you shot that deer! Stud of a buck. Were you in the blind behind him in the pic?
Hunt hard and hunt safe. Cold weather is good for deer movement, but it can "stove you up!"
That’s a GREAT looking buck.
It's a great place in your bowhunting life to be passing on bucks that would have made you sh#t your pants 20 years ago - that's the great thing about it, the progressions in our stages and experiences. I would be just as happy for a kid shooting a forkhorn as I would be for you shooting a 220" buck this time! I just saw this - will be following and hope you get a good one! Good luck Pat
I love the unknowns of what can show up in the timber of Alberta or Sask. Having hunted both of them, its pretty special never knowing what can pop out. Very cool stuff, and will be keeping an eye as this hunt continues!!!
Getting ready to go hunting this AM.....thought I'd check this feature to see what your "film at 11" comment was about yesterday. Don't see a day three update....?
I am hoping that Pat hasn't posted the video yet because he still needed to do some video editing before posting it on the forum. Either that, or they are still in tracking/recovery mode...….
Must be dragging one in and skinning it in the barn
I keep hitting the PLAY button on that "video" and nothing happens! ;-)
Checking every day from a treestand. It’s fun bow hunting while others are bow hunting:)
No joke APauls! I'm staying positive... hopefully it was not an iffy shot resulting in wolf chow... Fingers crossed Pat (assuming the more at 11 thing was suggesting you did shoot that buck in the pic)...
He's taking extra time to prepare the video etc. I know it.
I think he just wants clicks to show future sponsors how many million "hits" Bowsite had on October 18, 2018. I know I've refreshed and counted for about 250 of those hits already :)
Pat's probably laughing at us as the suspense builds.................................................. : )
I heard Stormy Daniels was performing in Saskatoon. That may be the issue
I have been busy looking for that second red dot whilst waiting for the report.
Held at bay by wolves circling his tree with no reception to reach out to fellow bowsiters?
I've got a sneaky suspicion something good is about to be posted... We should start running little bet?
Yer killin us, Smalls....
Gonna be a Blood Trail Challenge Advanced Expert Edition coming soon.
Unfortunately, pauses like this usually mean wounded animal that isn't found. Hope I am 100 percent wrong on this one. Hoping for the best.
Fastflight... I'm feeling the same way... Crossing fingers for you Pat. (Unless I'm incorrect and it's just a tech issue or no deer)...
Now Pat is pulling a Scoot on us.
You all must not follow Bowsite on Twitter ;)
Late wake up call due to excessive touchdown celebration.......
My mom said if I Twitter too much I'll go blind!
KSLand, For those of us that do not Twitter, please enlighten us.....Pat, Are you pulling a Trump on us? Twitter gets more timely updates than your own website?!!
Congratulations Pat... good work.
Nice buck Pat - congratulations
Nice!! Congrats Pat!! It's that 4K takes forever to load from the Saskatchewan wilderness ;) What a beauty. Even in Canada you don't see bucks like that every day.
Super dear Pat great job you guys really have that down to a science up there
Awesome! He's a great buck Pat - congrats!
I didn't want to share the video out of respect for Pat. As always, congrats on a great buck!
Great buck Pat ! Good thing your arrow didn't have much steam left or Rob would have had an extra peephole in that pop up.....
Awesome footage, great buck and great shot congrats Pat!
Great buck Pat. Congrats! Awesome job with the footage.
Pat, I was going to sign you up for the insane asylum if you would have passed on that buck. Congrats to you.
TMBB
Congrats Pat great buck and great video!
you considered passing that hog? You're a better man than I am!
Great deer, and welcome back to reality.
Does arob have any TV pics of any true forest giants this year?
Michael
Congrats on a great buck and the video was tops.
Nice buck and great shot, Pat. Congrats.
WOW, awesome freakn video... Many CONGRATS!!!
Great shot Pat. That's what we all strive for. Thought it was pretty cool to see your buck go after the smaller one. Congrats!
nice hawwg, great video, thanks for taking us along
Well done Pat! He’s a beauty!
Do me a favor and say hello to Diesel. He loaded up the Bear I shot that climbed the tree after I shot him then fell. He liked it because it was a 2 yard track job!
Pretty awesome bucks you guys took.
Another meat hunt done, on to Kansas, Your on a roll......
She’s a beaut, Clark! Congrats. Nice buck and great shot!
Beautiful deer - each one. Congrads to all.
I admire your patience waiting through a couple of decent shots to get a perfect shot. Do you drive up for these hunts or fly? I would drive from northern Illinois.
Super nice buck and some great footage captured. Congrats on a beautiful trophy.
Where's the pics and video??? I don't do twitter and all that stuff!!
Pat,
According to your report you spent 2 days in a tree stand. However, no "boot shoots" while in the stand were posted. How do we know this was an official, legit hunt? I thought this was a requirement for live or semi live hunt thread postings.
spike buck, Go to the home page, click on the "Read Now" link.
Thanks Midwest & Freeglee.... Nice buck!!!
Beautiful buck Pat- love those high tined racks! Congrats!
Different to see you deer hunting out of a blind. Just curious- how many have you taken using a blind?
Interesting- well congrats on your first!
Great buck. Thanks for keeping the fire lit!
Congrats on a great buck! Man is he a pretty one! The buck I mean.
Awesome shot and buck Pat! CONGRATS!
Huh? Never seen a trad bow with three strings and rubber string stoppers before ;) Heck of a beauty of a buck though! That's what Sask is famous for. Anyone not hunting Sask or Alberta purely because it's in Canada is missing out big time.
