Whitetail Deer

What is you guess? I don't know that answer yet...
I can tell you he has 18 points. he is a main frame 12 point, and has a 17.5" inside spread.
Hmm... let's see those kill photos. :)
Goooood buck... Best of luck...
Post up a dead pic with different angles. He looks like a 10 point in that pic.
for refferance, I am 6'3" 265lbs.
Absolute Giant! Congrats to whoever killed it! Throwing some real fast guesses together I "only" saw 17 scorable points so take that into consideration I got a "gross non typical" score of 189. Now I know such a score doesn't exist, but go from there. What a stud.
A monster, congrats to you!
Would love to hear more about your hunt for that whopper.
What an awesome buck! I don't care about the score, he's a stud! Congrats!
Now that is a heart stopper!! Congratulations on a beautiful trophy. I'll take a wild stab and go with a gross of 188". Let us know when you get the tape on him.
High 170's-180's. Awesome buck!!
He scores, Dead. Happy hunter. Lots of sausage. Guessing 187”
Also one of the better bucks ive seen from Ohio this year. Im in central Ohio, what area did you kill him in if you dont mind sharing?
Has to gross close to 190. APauls there is such a score as gross non-typical. Still deductions off of the typical frame. What a buck!
Damn, that was quick...8^) Congrats!
BTW, Ohio buck and what date?... He was cruising during daylight hours on the 15th and 18th... Would like to add to the Rut Report thread... I bought the thread to the top...
AWESOME. He scores AWESOME!
I got 177 with my calculator. I wouldn't be surprised to be 10 inches low. But I would bet $20 I'm within 8 inches :)
Awesome buck!
Some real monsters taken by bowsiters this year. Wow.
Dream buck right there. Congrats.
193", guessing about 175-178 gross typical, then additional 15"ish+ of extra. Probably not even close....
AW Shucks someone already got 187 oh well fun to look at, a good one for sure!
Nice deer!! Congrats to the hunter.
High 180’s
He definitely scores more than enough! Great deer! Congratulations!
186 2/8ths. Great buck. Congrats!
That is a legit giant.... wow....
You were lucky. I passed up that same buck last year. Anyway, glad you got him.
Nicely done!. :) my best, Paul
Yes... “Shooter” for sure
182” gross. Congrats on a nice buck
Ty - You going to give us date and score?
How old do you think he is? In that trail cam picture his antlers dwarf his body. Maybe it’s just the angle too.
172 gross a lot depends on mass measurements. Shawn
Assuming it's free range that buck/experience scores a 10 in my book!
Great Buck, score depends on if he has enough NT points to go NT. If not then there is a lot of deductions.
His score is: "Flippin' Big!"
Awesome deer man. I'm guessing around 180-185
Congrats on killing an incredible deer. I think he's in the high 180s low 190s. Nets are for fish! Lets hear how many inches of bone that deer has.....
Yes he is/was free range; I am REALLY against even caging a wild animal, let alone "hunting" one. I got him on Thanksgiving Day at 3:50 pm. It is going to be a bit before I can score him though, I had to leave the rack with my Dad when blizzard came. I will make sure to post it though.
Cool Ty, thanks for the update, and again - Congrats!!! Once in a lifetime bucks don't happen very often...8^)
An amazing animal, congrats.
Congrats on a giant!!!!!
Mark
TYLER,
Congratulations on a "magnificent 114" buck.
That is a really cool deer with a lot going on. Congratulations. I came up with 187 for my eyeball score.
Thought you guys may think this was neat too. IMO this could be his baby brother or son. The One side of his rack has some of the same characteristics. What do you think?
That is some nice tine length for a deer that age.
That is some nice tine length for a deer that age.
What the heck does it score??!! I’m losing interest.
That is a FANTASTIC buck. Well done! You have to love it when a plan comes together.
Still have not got him scored, but the lab results just came back and he was 7.5 years old.
188. What a stud! Congrats!
7.5 years old buck in this state with all the pressure, gawd, that has to be a record...
"She's a beaut, Clark!" Very nice!!!
“Still have not got him scored, but the lab results just came back and he was 7.5 years old.”
Just post the measurements here!!!! Put a tape on and take a couple pics, if you can.
172", maybe 174" max. Regardless he's a stud that no one should pass up. Congratulations
That is a great buck. Congratulations. It's always hard to tell from pictures but I'm getting around 190 total gross score. I'm also not seeing 15" of abnormal points, which is the current minimum to qualify for non typical P&Y. If there are enough NT then upper 180's NT. If it doesn't qualify as NT then probably about 165 net typical.
When are you going to have him measured officially? Regardless of the final number, a deer like that deserves to be in the book.
Looks like a 175-180 inch typical frame and around 10 inches of non typical points...…..So, I'm guessing 185 to 190 inches gross.
everyone seems to be in the 180s with gross, i will concur. "gross -non-typical" to me is a real score, it's just scoring everything and adding it up with zero deductions which should land this buck somewhere in the 80s. . Then there is gross-typical and net typical.
Congrats on a buck of a lifetime. Lots of character there - hard to beat!
183...circumference throws me on this one.
Ty, put a dam tape on him!
I finally got the tape on the rack. 194.25 gross 187.375 net 7.5 years old
Hell of a buck!! Congratulations! Scored as a typical or non-typical? How much non-typical score did he have? Main beam lengths? Obviously a giant!
Finally I am close on judging a big whitetail! Helluva buck Ty, congrats
Thanks for posting the score sheet....I am always interested in beams, mass, tines, NT, etc. What a buck!!!!!
Great buck, Ty! How long ago did you have it measured? It would be interesting to know how much shrinkage occurred from the day of harvest until you had it scored.
Congrats on your huge buck!
t-roy, 7 months passed before I got to measure it, so I never got a green score. I am not sure how much they shirk???
Thanks Ty.
I killed a similarly scoring buck in January of ‘17 that ended up (officially) scoring 191 & 2/8ths” gross, when I had him scored 14 months after I killed him. I green scored him the day after I shot him right at 195”, and my taxidermist buddy (who used to be an official P&Y scorer) taped him out at 195 & 3/8ths” a few days later. He basically lost approximately 4” in that timeframe. I wish I would have kept my sheet that day to compare it to the official scoresheet and see where the shrinkage occurred. Would be interesting to see if it occurred more in tine length, mass, or a combo of both.
Depends if it goes in the pool
“Like a frightened turtle”!
