Hey everyone! Its been a while since I've last been on here but I came on for two things: a sign from Kelly and to ask for a little help from you all.
Here is the sign from my dad that I thought you all may like. This is copy and pasted from my Facebook
"Just a cool Kelly Harris moment that happened today. Anna Collins, Emma Kubelka and a few other friends of mine were talking about Maya and dad and their celebrations of life. We were talking about dad and how wonderful he was and his accident. Although I don't mind talking about the situation, it is still hard thinking and having the memories of the accident play through my head. But yet, we talked about how wonderful a celebration of life is and how many people came for my dad and to celebrate his life. Right after the conversation had ended someone had made a post and one of the photos had my dad in it! It was such a wow moment. Right after we finished our breakfast, my friends and I went to our student center to buy some coffee. Anna then points out a "cute bracelet" that is just laying on the counter. It ends up being an Adventures On The Gorge bracelet where dad was a white water raft guide years ago. It was one of my dads favorite places with never ending stories from his time there.It was sitting on the counter next to the creams and sugars with no one around to claim it. Of course I just had to take it. It was the first time in a while that I had talked about my dads accident, and it was so comforting to get a sign from him so soon after. I don't get many signs, but when I do they are some of the most comforting feelings in the world." I have added photos of the moment below.
Now for the help part. I attend Xavier University and they are having a competition for a non-profit. The foundation who receives the most votes wins 5000 dollars. My roommate and her family started a foundation about two years ago. My roommate (who is Anna is mentioned above) lost her sister to leukemia two years ago, and we actually met through her sister at an oncology/hematology camp through Cincinnati children's about 7 years ago. So here is the favor: in the attached link, it would be amazing if you could vote for the "Live Like Maya Foundation." All you need to do is enter your information (you can only vote once with the same email so if you have multiple that would be wonderful!), then under Select A Non-Profit say that it is not listed, then enter in the Live Like Maya Foundation. It takes at most two minutes. But how AWESOME would it be if my best friend, who I made through tragic event, was able to receive 5000 dollars in honor of her sister at the college we attend. In front of TEN THOUSAND people at a halftime show!. The voting ends tomorrow so don't procrastinate.

I get little signs from your dad all the time. I only wear my Kellyville shirt on special occasions and sometimes when I’m hunting and I need a little luck.
I’m going to pass this in to my circle of friends and try to get all the support I can.
I miss you and your mom. The celebration of your dad’s life was well... mind boggling. I made friends with people I didn’t even know. We never ran out of Kelly stories. We laughed our asses off!

Unfortunately I was unable to go out this past fall. It was my first semester of college, and I'm already in my schools nursing program. I had a few classes that were so hard I couldn't do anything outside of school and studying for anatomy. I did go out to our lease and visit my grandpa and a few friends during the Ohio youth hunt. I couldn't not go during that weekend! Hopefully this year will be different.
I don't have an update for the foundation yet, and we're all waiting anxiously. Thank you so much for all of your support!
If you get get beat by a bunch of goat people that would definitely qualify as a Kelly Harris moment.

Great to hear from you Morgan. I think of your dad often. That was definitely a sign - no other explanation required. I have received similar signs from my father who departed just over a year ago (more than I can list and none are coincidence). I don't come on here as much as I used to and it coincides with the loss of your dad which is no reflection on the great community built up on bowsite. Kelly and I had fun on bowsite, texting, facebook (with politics hahaha I hope Trump wins again for your dad!), and we spoke often and only got to hunt together once unfortunately. Your instructions for Maya were easy and completed in seconds..... Thanks for posting and god bless -

Unfortunately the live like maya foundation did not win. But they are so grateful for everyone’s support and love! And they are so optimistic and are focusing on the publicity they got for their foundation. If you would like to follow them on Facebook their page is MayaStrong for updates and fundraising. They often have options for Acts of Kindness cards to pass along. I can personally attest that Maya was a beautiful soul and she 100% gets it from her family. She was a fighter (x3) and is one of the strongest people I have ever met. Thank you all again for your votes and love. Hope to update you soon:)
