Catch and release on this guy. Price tag was just too high, by the time I figured in the trophy fee, PLUS the new piece of jewelry my wife said she gets to buy, if I shot a sable.
They are gorgeous animals for sure.

Interesting. My wife begged me to shoot the sable bull that walked into the waterhole. When I said it was too expensive, she promised to pay for it. Still couldn't do it, so no photo.

I was supposed to trade this bronze I did of a Sable for a Sable hunt until all the Covid BS hit...tehy are the most beautiful of Antelope....couldn't resist sculpting one

The price of sable has gone waaaaay down it was 3 grand before covid and I'm guessing much lower now

Matetsi Sable Bull taken many years ago. The Zambian and x-breeds of today generally grow longer horns but I still find this sub-species the most beautiful. I was lucky enough to take this exceptional specimen and get to re-live the experience every time I walk into my basement.

Very true, adventurewriter. The price tag for the sable in my pic, was $8,000. I’d have definitely triggered the release on him, had the price been $3,000!
