Bodie Turner...The Machine!

Stayed up to watch the Vegas men's open championship tonight. Anyone who's familiar with Joel Turner of Shot IQ may know that Joel's young son, Bodie, is quite the archer. He came to Vegas this weekend at 14 years old to shoot in the pro division and made it all the way to the final shoot off tonight along with 21 other pros. After several ends of shooting and eliminations, it came down to two shooters, Bodie and another excellent young archer that had just won the open division at the Lancaster Classic two weeks ago.
Bodie had ice in his veins, I imagine due to the training from his dad on learning to execute a shot under pressure and shot like a machine to walk away the champ. Congrats to Bodie and his coach/dad, Joel!

Joel Turner (his Dad) has a program (Shot IQ) that cured my shooting problems while hunting so it doesn’t surprise me his son is in the winners circle. Great job father and son.

What were his scores?
Congrats to the young, man. I've shot that tournament in the past and I know the immense pressure. It takes a special kinda shooter to keep their nerves in check enough to win it.

Bodie is also only the 3rd person in history to shoot a perfect 660 in the qualifying round at the Lancaster Classic two weeks prior to Vegas. That's 60 arrows in a row at a spot the size of a nickel!

Epic to say the least !!!
After having shot world cups and tournaments all over the world with a bunch of those folks he smoked, I can say it's probably one of coolest things to happen in archery in a long long time.

And agreed, the talent and training to win a tournament like this is incredible, but the prize is a pittance compared to "professional" sports...
