Biding time before I go back to CO for trout and walleyes.
I'm headed to the Rainy River tonight. Can't wait! Some walleye chasing this weekend, then it's turkey time in MN next week.
good eatin' there. so excellent.
Nice fish boys! But I like sitting home doing knee replacement rehab. :(
Just a couple weeks ago in Saskatchewan there was four feet of ice.
Only with a bow… Fishing with a pole is the second gayest thing a guy can do..
Shoot'm between the eyes or you're a tranny?
Killing spring salmon here !
Jump start in Florida last month my boys first tuna and dolphin!!!!

Don't do much fishing but I do enjoy sitting in a sturgeon shack looking down a cut hole for hour and hours waiting for these dinos.
Lake Erie walleye fishing has been on fire the past several years. Yeah most are bigger than this!
Been fishing over a month been catching lots of these.
But the muskies on Lake St Clair don’t get much bigger.
Nice fish everyone!
I'm itching to hit the trout streams here in PA but we have been getting pounded with rain and a lot of flooding. I'm hoping it will dry out this week the creeks will come down.
Man I wish we had open water but managed to get out tail end of the ice season
May 1, weather permitting.
Mule that Musky is my dream. Lately I’ve been just trying to catch sport fishing awards in MA. Love catching the big panfish like Crappie and Perch.
I'll be chasing these in about 2 weeks. Can't wait.
I like bikini girl better than your ugly mug GG.. ;)
Apauls I’ve fished my entire life but what the hell is that fish? Looks like a cross between a Snook and a White Perch lol
I’ve been catching a lot of channel cats, hybrid striper, striped bass, and the occasional carp or bass. We’ve done well. This is my buddy one weekend about a month ago. Super warm. He got his little girl out. She caught a few too. The other trips was too cold for her.
The striper pic is from a video. It’s the best I can do with it. My buddy caught this one. Small for Tennessee and a baby compared to the see run versions I chase off the Carolina shores. But, this is 20 minutes from home. I’ll take it.
Got a striper trip planned middle of next month. Pretty pumped to be on the Roanoke River catching wild striper. It’s one of the few places in this country that striped bass can spawn inland without being sea run.
Missing that wet northern Wisconsin April, pompano for dinner!!
Some real beauties gentlemen. Thanks for sharing the pictures with us. Tight lines!:)

Are you talking about my wife, bluedog? ;-)
Damn, GG. I got a whole new respect for you.
I'm gonna get the boat cleaned up this weekend, already got tags for the trailer. Gonna pick crawlers tomorrow night with the kids. Then find a bunch of two liters and go juggin catfish.
If that is grey goose’s wife I’ll give him a tarpon fishing reel. lol
If I’m wrong you definitely outpunted your coverage.
I just got a 12' Hammerhead ocean fishing kayak with fin drive. It's the bomb for fishing the Texas flats and backwaters. Can't believe how well the fin drive propels that thing!
They now make "e-kayaks' with pedal assist. Of course. But I'm a purist, you know. Leg power only!
Green Bay walleyes are starting to back out of the rivers post spawn the last week or so. Big girl was probably a couple pounds heavier last week.
Heading about 100 miles off east coast Monday for tunas, hopefully have a good report.
Basil, that is a skinny fish. Definitely would have been nice to see her before she dumped the eggs.
I need to get over to Green Bay one of these years for the prespawn bite.
I hit up the rainy river last weekend. The amount of walleyes in the river right now is insane. I ended up with over 100 walleyes caught. With 40 of them going 20 to 25”. My biggest was this 28”
Awesome fishing posts . Son and I been catching some speckled trout up to 30 inches and Reds to 10 lb. I need to take the time to figure out posting pics ,I have pics ,Honest :)
And here I thought GG was a gay lib lol. Kidding GG
Yesterday afternoon, we missed the hot bite but managed to ice about a dozen in a few hours, tshirt weather
The only time I fish any more is the Maumee River walleye run March 15-April 30. My favorite.
"And here I thought GG was a gay lib lol."
the jury is still out on that. a tarpon head that size can hide a lot. there might be a lot more packed into that bikini that we know.
:)
Maumee rivers been decent lately.
Maumee rivers been decent lately.
February and March had some good fishing.
Michael, what are the crowds like up on the Rainy these days? I know it used to be insane for that April bite. Nice walleye!
Last weekend it was very busy. Probably a thousand boats or more. 4 access open and pick ups still parked 1.5 mile down the highway. Wheelers opened up this week so that would make it 5 access open now. Last day to fish is tomorrow. Granted Frontier access wasn’t usable by big boats with bunk trailers. With the low water this year only one concrete slab was in the water and the drop off from the concrete was recking axles.
The kids at Birchdale are still there shuttling people with golf carts.
I set in my truck at Birchdale so I had a parking spot in the parking lot.
Mississippi River last week near Alma, WI.
Going crappie fishing in a couple weeks.
I don't see no bikini on GG's wife...8^)))
g5smoke21 - "I do enjoy sitting in a sturgeon shack looking down a cut hole for hour and hours waiting for these dinos"
So then what do you do, gig them?
Can’t get to my favorite lake yet.
Gotta love spring salmon !
Just put 24 of those spawning discs and 10 of the porcupine’s in my pond this weekend.
woodguy65 - I assume the porcupine thingys are for fish cover?
Do you have to dive down to place those spawning discs?
Yes correct, porcupines are structure/fish cover.
The spawning discs - I put them at 2-4’ feet depth - more fir bluegill.
Thanks woodguy65...
Wow, hadn't heard of placing spawning beds for bluegill, most ponds I fished locally try to remove as many as you can catch they're so thick they're stunted...
While on the fishing topic, while channel surfing I happened to stop and watch a sailfishing program early this morning and noticed they had a reel that I think was auto retrieve like it was either battery or electronic powdered... I'm like WTH, that is cheating isn't it? I thought the whole thrill of deep sea bill fishing was cranking them in... Hemmingway must be turning in his grave...8^)
Spike where exactly do you live? I have fished all over on Ontario as well as the St. Lawrence river. You should have plenty of opportunities for good musky fishing, not too far from you. Here’s the ex with a good one from Lake St Clair. 55” Earlier the same day she caught a 50 1/2 incher and lost about a 53 at the side of the boat. I have about 700 or 800 muskies under my belt with 15 over the 50 inch mark. She has 8 feet over 50. I used To be the president of the Three River’s chapter of Muskies Inc.
Fatty! Thick to the tail.
Zbone - my bass became stunted because not enough food for them. I had an electroshock fish survey done. So part of the process (per fish biologist) to reverse - is to add some spawning beds for BG to increase food, restock with some golden shiners and more BG, and keep all bass less than 14” etc.
Right now there is too many bass and not enough food. My pond is deeper and clearer than most small farm ponds. Makes for great swimming not fishing. What little BG and redear in there made for easy targets in the clear water and no place to hide.
Mule Power those are IMPRESSIVE musky!!!!
“They now make "e-kayaks' with pedal assist. Of course. But I'm a purist, you know. Leg power only!”
You’re a smart man Lou. Pretty sure you know the irony in your statement! LOL!
woodguy, does your pond have any vegetation? Golden shiners like vegetation for spawning, but I read you can put out mats for them too. Not much better for a bass pond than a good supply of GS!
I believe that you want to take out all the big bluegill you can. Once they are big enough that your bass can't eat them they will compete for forage fish that young bass need to get big.
Catscratch - have an order in for golden shiners next month (40 pound stocking).
woodguy65 - Your scenario is interesting...
Wow Mule, yeah impressive muskies... All other fish are just bait...8^)))
Good day
Good day
Dang, bigswivle! That’s quite the haul! Dorado, yellowfin, and wahoo, correct? Which one is the best eating?
Already ate some of the wahoo, they’re all good. Wahoo is my favorite, even tho fresh yellowfin is hard to beat.
Love the hull lights, Bigs.
