Contributors to this thread:
Heard of a New Possible record deer taken in Kansas. Heard second hand no pics or info. except for it was supposidly taken up in the Mid Central Part of the state has anyone heard anything or have pictures ??
I swear this thread starts every year.
I really hope not. We have too much outfitter/leasing problems around our neck of the woods now.
I second that Aeronut! Freaking crazy. Seth has that right, I was just thinking of this a couple days ago, "Wonder when the State record will come up this year?"
Wildman's Link
I agree we have too much publicity the way it is here in Kansas. Heard it from a close relative that hunts. I did some looking on the internet and found this pictures but no info. Hope the link works.
Wildman I believe that is an old pic from a year or two ago. Great buck however!
I sure hope it is Seth one heck of a Buck though.
That pic is 6 or 8 years old.
Trebarker knows the story. It is several years old.
I believe that buck was shot in 2000 or 2001 and netted in the upper 170's as a typical and just over 200" as an NT.
That buck has made the rounds as horn porn so many times, I feel sorry for the guy who shot it.
Yeah, I know the story, but I'm not going to bother explaining it again this year.
Contact Lloyd Fox at KDWP Emporia, he can tell you the story about the deer that was shot many years ago. He and other staff members are the ones who took the pictures and they are the ones who unleashed it on the internet before the hunter got the chance to have the honors to do so himself.
Words of wisdom for all trophy hunters;
DO NOT ALLOW OTHER PEOPLE TO PHOTOGRAPH YOUR DEER UNLESS YOU WANT THEM FORWARDED TO EVERY PERSON INTERESTED IN DEER HUNTING THAT HAS AN INTERNET CONNECTION IN 3HRS OR LESS!
If that's the case, then you dare not email a photo of your deer to anyone or post it on this site. I don't see the big deal. If it's big enough to shoot, it's big enough to show the world.
I got an email of a record book mulie supposedly taken out west.
It was huge.
I will look for the picture.
Haven't heard of any whitetail yet though.
