I see Nevada is not going to give any NR goat tag this year. They did the same to us on the bighorns a few years back. At least they should let us buy a bonis point if so that we don't fall behind the resident hunters. Or let us transfure them to another animal.

Bigdan,
That really sucks because you have been putting in for so long. Mother Nature/ dumb ass practices are a bitch, but when the tags come around again, you should (realative) be in the same situation as before.
From what I hear they have been hit really hard and it hasn't made the news like the bighorns. It is just a crappy situation for all- specially the animals.
I hope things change but its going to take a long long time.

I bet my buddy in Wyoming would disagree with the thread header as he just drew a primo archery elk tag up north of Elko in unit6 and he had very few points.

Seems that non res hunters who apply for Nevada regardless of what animal seem to forget that their own states probably do the same thing by not giving out many non res tags. Most states have much higher game populations than we have here in Nevada. Some states have actually harvest more elk in one year that we even have in our state. Same with most big game animals. Our state is mostly arid with not that much good habitat. Yes the elk we do have get pretty big, but that's because of such a limited harvest. So when you finally do get your tag, make the most of it. It took me 14 years to draw a bull elk tag, but I did get one that makes the Nevada record book. No outfitter, just my brother and me working our butts off.
