Pig hunting around Clear Lake?
California

I'm going to be up at the Booneville beer fest this weekend and will have a little extra time and figured I'd do a quick hunt.
I hunted before at Cache Creek, but never even saw any sign, let alone hogs (saw tons of Tule). I'm looking at the southern area of the Medicino forest up there, maybe around Lake Pilsbury.
Anyone have some general areas to check out on public land for hogs and/or turkey in that area?

I've heard there are pigs on the non-traffic side of Lake Sonoma...you have to access by boat. Never tried it but always wanted to.
I've seen pigs right off the road near Middletown several times.

I ended up hunting turks up there unsuccessfully.
I just don't think there's good pig hunting on public land.
I've thought about hunting Sonoma as well, but I think that hunt is a draw, or at least was. I'm not sure if DFG does it anymore cause I heard the landowners around were bitching that people were hunting on their land and that some campers complained about hunters.
The sonoma hunt run's from nov to may or something like that. It cost's around 20$ for the permit.
Lake Sonoma pig hunting is over for the season. They only run it in the winter to April and you have to register at the lake headquarters. Lots of pressure (go figure, Cali, public land you can actually hunt).
Always wanted to hunt casche creek. Went past it on hiway 20 going to sac on the way back stopped at the parking lot. There was a women's riding club coming in off the trail. Well they said about 5 miles in they started seeing pigs.no motorized vehicles allowed. It would be hell packing a big one out even if you boned it out.big snakes a lot of chapparel and brush. It would help to have dogs or a dog and a gun. The locals wait until they come out to highway 20 and shoot them from the road.im not crazy enough to hunt chapparel for hogs even with a gun.
