Today is the last day of rifle A Zone. With the archery rut hunt known as A25 starting on Oct 5th, I'll be looking forward to getting out and scouting. My dad shot a buck this morning and the buck was already chasing a doe. This weather we have gotten may of kicked them into pre-rut. A couple questions about this hunt. Are the bucks down in the canyons where there is water and cover during the day? How effective is rattling and what about the idea of using a treestand? Any thoughts on this or information from past hunts please send my way. Thanks, T

The deer I've seen up there hunting pigs have been bedded in the trees during the day. Hope you're getting some action.

Hope you put a nice one in the dirt. Did the government shutdown limit your days afield? I know they shut down the lake but hope it did'nt affect your hunt.
