Hello from CT I have family in Appleton that said to come out and hunt some deer. How is the hunting around there, good public eland to hunt?

Appleton City is about 15 miles north of Schell Osage WA. 8800 acres of archery only. It is a duck/goose refuge also, but good archery hunting.
Only about 10 miles north of the "Prairie Chicken Refuge". It is pretty open, but holds deer.
You would also not be far from Truman lake area. It is a Corp of Engineer lake with public hunting all around the lake.
Several other areas are close. Look at the Missouri dept of conservation website for maps and info.
