Preference Points

I have 7 limited deer, elk, and desert bighorn preference points. I have never hunted Utah. I am interested ti hear any opinions on have many points it takes to get into a good/great area.

You can check the draw odds but your going to have to get lucky in this lifetime for any sheep tag here. Your about 8 or 9 points away from hunting the premier elk or deer units and with point creep might never make it. That being said your only couple of years drawing a unit they give multiple non resident tags out like manti for elk. Deer are the same way but less le units so more points usually. Dont be discouraged though because half of all tags go in a general drawings so everyone no matter how many points has a shot of drawing.

You would have a good chance at drawing a Wasatch Elk tag , Fun hunt.

You might get lucky. I drew San Juan with 6 NR points last year. Hunt of a Lifetime!
