Hey Guys, Figured I would Share this, as it might be something somebody would be interested in, My wife and I own a small farm, and we host on farm classes each year. We are hosting our Raising Meat Chickens class Sat May 3, Students learn to raise and process their own chickens and receive a Power Plucker processing kit. Check out the Flyer for details.

Hope your all finding some sheds and spotting some toms!

BBB, what does it matter?

You are just going to watch them go by from a nearby tree anyway. :-) <--- (happy face disclaimer)

That actually sound cool thing to do.

Best Part about chicken hunting is you can do it on sundays :)

How can you tell a trophy chicken from a non-trophy??

I would say Breast Size is the most important measurement

Cool video Roe. We raise a few chickens as well (in Sherman), mostly for the eggs.

Tell me about that plucker you include with the class, does it work well? Is that what you guys use for the commercial processing or is that strictly for a once in a while plucker?

I saw one of those big mother pluckers used when I went pheasant hunting and they would throw in like 4-5 at a time and they were all cleaned in less than a minute.

Thanks @ace sorry for the delay response! The plucker is a awesome option for the homestead size operation. We do about 100 a year for our family, and for the price this plucker can't be beat! A commercial plucker starts at $900 range. It does not work as quickly as a commercial grade plucker but at a $800 plus dollar savings I would recommend that to anyone just feeding the fam and a few friends. BTW we are in New Milford, we're neighbors! I'll let ya know next time we have a farm open house, come on by! (Open house invite open to all my ct bow bros)
