I'm sure most of us read or heard about the moose that fell into what the news reported as a well; although it looked more like a root cellar to me, in Hartland, CT.

The pictures of the moose showed thousands of ticks on the animal and they said they had to kill it because of the ticks. I've read this is a common problem for moose. I'm sure this will be used to bolster the position to have WB killing deer at will.

this is a different tick than what deer get....they are really big.....

Check out the attached link. Winter Ticks are the leading cause of moose deaths. It is the reason NE states are cutting moose tags in lotteries.

thanks for the article. I never knew there was a winter tick and how severe an impact they can have on moose!
