Ok who's going? Me Julie and Crunch are planning on being there. I'm going to try to get at least one other group to go. We should all make it a point to try and get some others to go. At least one more tent full.
Ed
Kathy and Zoey can't hardly wait to go. Practice up for the turkey shoot.
Wouldn't miss it! Don;t even have to put it on the calendar now- everybody knows where we'll be the first weekend in Aug! ;-)
My daughter is actually going to miss a swim meet to go this year. SHe hasn't been able to go since she started swimming 5 years ago. Last year when I brought my buddy and his daughter she heard all about the fun her best friend had there and decided to go this year. Hope to bring them again and another friend and have talked to several families at church about it.
Here is a pic of her playing around in camp one of the last times she attended.
39 days and counting...................... ;-)
Before the crowd arrived.
Come see how these kids grew.
The "Open-Aire Cafe" and fire circle.
a favorite spot on Rock Run
I have been putting those post cards all over York and Lanc. Counties.
I will be there. Most likely rolling in Friday night. I have a title to defend.
Chris and I will be there.. :)
Yeah! Can't wait to see Chris.
LOL! Not Roy, just Chris! ;-)
I'll see Roy soon enough and twice in one summer. LOL
Well, it will be here before you know it. Be nice to see some of the old crowd. I am curious to see the old chirt chipper's new house.
Got the glow bracelets today for the kids!
Nice! :) I know they look forward to that, and it makes it easier to keep track of them! ;-)
I am looking into bringing a stand to hold the turkey shoot targets.
I am getting hungry just thinking about it!(Campout ;-)
I got my recurve out over the weekend to sharpen up a bit. I wanna be ready! ;-)
Too bad there's no water melon shoot, so Perry can show me how it's done, I just may bring a water melon, to eat! I need to talk the the chef about some food plans!
LOL Mike! ;-)
Aim high, be the arrow, release...................EASY! :)
Ok the knives are sharp and the grill will be packed! I am ready to cook up a storm, well maybe I shouldn’t say storm, let’s hope for no rain! If the members of the campfire café let me know what they are bringing I can start planning on what seasoning / rubs and my annual BBQ sauce that will go best with what the proteins are. I was thinking if someone brings some whole hind 1/4s I could do two like last year on the spit with a new twist, stuffed with a garlic, kale, and walnut pesto with a peach BBQ sauce for Saturday Remember if you kill it, catch it or stick it I will cook it up!
LOL! Chef Bill(or should I say Uncle Buck?)....................were your ears buzzing?! ;-)
Every year I am amazed at how you "work your magic!" Not sure what I like better- watching you whip up those amazing dishes..............or savoring them as they slide down the back of my throat! :)
You know Bill, I don't know if I still have a whole hind quarter left this year.(have to check the freezer) But I know I have a bunch of trout that are frozen whole in blocks of ice(in ziplock bags). Could you do something with those? (and I'll gladly clean them and scale them)
Bill- I do have one smaller hind quarter that I can bring. Was trying to get a bigger one last season, but all I got was 2 small ones.
Want to try a bear hind quarter? I can bring one. We smoked some at Pine Hill and it was tasty.
That sounds interesting, Art! Never had a bear hind quarter- roasts and steaks yes.
Maybe he can do something like this? (first year Chef Bill preparerd the hind quarter :)
Bear hind, hummm, we would have to be careful how we listed in on the menu! Bear A** might not sound , bring it and we can have a rub that I use to make bulled pork, i am sure it will work. The trout will work also, I will poach them flake them and make trout cakes!
LOL! :) OK Bill, will bring the trout. Maybe we can even catch a few fresh ones for ya! ;-)
I'll be there with Uncle Gary and crew. I'll have the deep fryer going for turkey and french frys. And anything else you would like to throw in there while the oils hot!
When is everyone planning to get there?
Anybody know if Brock and crew will need help setting up?
Steve, Mike and I will be there Thursday morning. Looking forward to another great campout with good friends.
Dan
I am sure help is needed to set up targets and unload a couple loads of fire wood.
OK- will be there bright and early Thurs. to help with whatever is needed.

Looks like it might be a bit cooler than normal this year! ;-)
Just found out a couple guys from French Creek Outfitters are coming (from Phoenixville).
If the weather is to be cool, it may be an electric blanket event for me. LOL
Our camp will be different again this year. Kelly now resides in Charlotte, so she won't make it. Not sure if Patty will make it or not. I am planning on it, and so is Amy. Also, our "brother" Chris Orwig, and his crew, will be there.
Can't wait.
we should check out Rock Run again
I'm planning a day trip probably Thursday. Looking forward to seeing a lot of folks.
LOL Jen! :)
Hawkeye- that's a definite on Rock Run! I'm gonna bring a couple yoga mats this year for the natural waterslide! ;-)
Garrett is a little disappointed, especially when I told him what Chef Bill was planning for meals. He is taking this year off (for the first time since he was little) to spend some time with the Grandparents. But he said he will definitely be back next year! :)
Sierra is looking forward to getting back to the Campout, though after 4 years of missing it for swimming. Her best friend will be there with her Dad and their(and ours) friend Teddy. He wants to get back into bowhunting this year.
Also told a few families from church about it and encouraged them to attend. Not sure if they will be there, though.
Looking forward to seeing everybody up there!
Pre-smoking the turkey breasts today. Kathy just seasoned them. Apple and hickory wood are soaking in water. They will get smothered in our secret recipe gravy for the saturday feast.
Going to grill some of the thinner pieces like tender loins too.
3 trays of the thick ones and a try of smaller ones waiting to go.
Birds are cooked. Slicing and gravy is nexy.
Want some of this? Next Sat. evening at Sheshequin Buckskinners, Lycoming Creek Sportsmens. Can't wait to see everyone. I hope RC brings the stuffed peppers.
If all goes well I hope to be there fri about noon + or - Ed
Looks good, Art! Can't wait to try it.
Ed, don't forget the wake-up call! ;-)
Art- I have the clays for the Turkey Shoot- got plenty!
Ok! Sitting thru a 4 hour power outage here. Got stuff made for the campout just before the power went out. Stromboli and chocolate chip cookies.
Will we see this on Friday?
Perry, I have your UBP beer glass packed already so I won't forget it this time.
LOL! Yes, the traditional afternoon, post-meal Siesta! :)
And will we see THIS on Fri. evening?! ;-)
I'm Metikki again......
I'm attending my nephews wedding on Saturday.
Somebody let me know Please how Perry shoots his recurve??
LMBO! I wondered how long it would take for that pic to show up here! :)
Well, last year we got a late start due to trailer trouble. This year it is car problems. I am sitting here waiting for my mechanic to call me. Broke down on the way home last night and had it towed there. Hopefully it is nothing major and I can be on the road sometime tomorrow. Worse comes to worse, will have to wait til Fri. and get a ride with my buddy. One way or the other we'll get there.
Just saw Ed's house. Awesome.
Suspect this will be full soon. Some knew guys are coming.
Ready to roll. Deb's working a half day and gets off at 9:00. Should hit the road between 10-11:00.
Meeting was just scheduled in Maryland for tomorrow. :(
Well, we made it there and back with no problems(Thank God! ;-)
Had another fabulous time! THANK YOU to all involved to make this a highlight of the year EVERY year! :)
The hard work and generosity of everyone is unbelievable!
A better group of friends I could not find.
Glad to meet a few folks and see some others that I knew, but were there for the first time. Also some that hadn't been there in a while.
And Teeton won the WOOD, so he has to bring it back next year! : )
I had to baby sit Phil on Friday. LOL.. Phil, Ned, and I shot 3d together. We all shot pretty well. Was nice seeing Phil again.
Yeah, it was good to see Phil and his arch-nemesis! ;-)
I enjoyed seeing a lot of folks. Missed the ones that came lat on Friday or Saturday.
Last time I saw Brock he was a youngster. Now he's an old man. :) And Muldoon. He hasn't changed in 20 years.
It was enjoyable talking with Art and his wife. Great to see Ned and Rosemary after so many years.
I can't thank Roy and Chris enough for taking good care of me. He may seem like an ornery old coot but he's got a heart of gold especially when he's awake and paying attention. And he build one heck of a nice bow.
A fun time. Some year I'm hoping to spend the weekend.
See, lefty. He did pretty good.
Justin won the kids class.
Compition was pretty good.
LOL Art! (I was happy just to break the first one ;-)
Yeah, you and Bob were on fire! How many clays did you guys break before a winner was declared?!
We made it to 3 or 4 rounds with a few guys then it was after we moved back to the 20. I think we both broke one at 20 then we went back a little farther.
Wasn't enough good competition for me to shoot.. :)
That Bear take-down would have done real well. LOL.
Just call him "One-limb Roy".
LOL! I think when the old SIssy Pants saw all the clays beein' broken, he got a little..................SKEERED! ;-)
I should have took more pictures
What a fun time! I really enjoyed this CO - even though I couldn't shoot my bow. Who won the "wood prize" this year?
Kathy just reminded me that you won most of the other drawing prizes, but she can't remember who the wood went to. LOL.
It was somebody new I think.
Nice Pics Mike! Looks like Andy was aiming at Uncle Buck's butt and hit the sapling! ;-)
No, the wood did not go to a "newbie" this year, it went to our own Teeton(Ed Rogalski ;-)
Zoey and I are still camping.
