Yup Rut, I just wait until we can put 3 apps in each envelope. Sometimes there is someone who takes a ride up and picks up a bunch of tags for a few of us. Pretty easy down here in 5D

Actually there are a couple of SGLs in 5B that will give a try. Need to scout them but they're only about 45 minutes away. I have to stay closer to home so probably no trips back west this year.

I got my 2C tag on the 15th (awarded, not actually received it). I only saw 4 deer all last season where I hunt in 2C, so I doubt I will shoot a doe, but just in case I like to have it.

Pike Co. Treasurer set a record this year! I dropped it in the mailbox in Milford on Tues. evening and was awarded my 3D tag at 10:29am on Wed- can;t get much better than that! ;-)

Gonna try to get another 3D, but they cut the tags by like 7k this year, so not sure there will be many left in second round. Then will just go to treasurer on Aug 25th and get three 5C over the counter.

Well no 4C and they are sold out. I guess my applicAtion was FUBAR or something.... I'll be happy with a 5B in 2nd round as that is where my honey hole is....I guess I'll have to have my wife review my appl but I swear all done correctly, hmm maybe the mail am waylaid it. Lol

I sent my app to MONTGOMERY COUNTY, and have tags IN HAND.
My brother sent his apps to MONTGOMERY COUNTY on a Saturday and had tags in hand the following Thursday.
No more of this waiting around crap. Send your apps to Treasurers that respect hunters.

Someone also said the "smallest county" in PA sends tags back right away.
I'm assuming that is Montour.

LostNwoods - If you don't get a 5C tag it will only be because you didn't apply or buy one over the counter. There's over 89,000 left right now.
I buy 2 each year at the county treasurer's office.

Well, since I can't use the tag until the season opens, as long as I get it before that, I'm good, but I like the idea of sending them a message about the doe tags. Actually, I wish they had nothing to do with them.

I had to call the Lawrence Co Treasurer's Office and ask about mine and Junior's because they didn't show up on the PGC site. The response I got was ".....don't worry, we never do them until the last minute". Never again.

The sad part is, now that any treasurer can issue a tag for any WMU, if you put in for one of the units that go quick, the slow treasurer may really bite you in the butt! Counties like Montgomery and Pike could very well issue more tags for those units before the slower county treasurers process their applications- by then it may be too late! :(

I understand that Elk County process ALL the tags they recieve each day. No one goes home until they are done.
Couple years ago, I watched the PGC website, as it was in real time as to how many were being issued. Most ALL the units in the state quit issuing tags about 5 PM, but 2G and 2f Tags were still being issued up until about 7:30 PM.
Elk County may have been the one issuing tags.

Rutnut,I had that same problem last year.I got a first round tag for 2F and I put it away so it wouldn't get lost.To this day,I still haven't found it! I guess thats a part of growing old! lol
