Went out for an afternoon drive in the darken/Wilton/new canan area. Came to an intersection with a large field. I saw two deer so I automaticly pull over to watch them. The deer were on full alert with their flags up facing the right corner of the field. By the corner I see a coyote slowly creeping towards the 2 deer but he was busted before he started. Finnaly the deer took off and put a lot of distance between them and the coyote in no time and stood in the corner keeping a watchful eye. The coyote walked towards the rock wall trying to circle the deer and i lost him behind the brush.
It was cool to see and hope the coyote went to sleep hungry.
Have you guys seen anything like that?

My treestand was at midpoint to the side of a long ridge, extending to my left and right. I couldn't see over it, but almost the top. To my right, about seventy yards out I spotted a large deer tail in the flagging position. Since the tail was towards me, I realized I wasn't the cause of alarm. Suddenly the tail turned and the deer started running towards me. When it got close, I could see a large rack, but this buck was flying. As it got closer still, I started saying, "hey, hey, hey". The buck blew by me and was quite a sight to see. Next I hear more footfalls on the ground coming from the same direction as the deer. Yup, big coyote in persuit. I again called, "hey, hey, hey" but the coyote never slowed. Again I hear footfalls and this time I'm shouting, "HEY, HEY, HEY". Well, this time a coyote stops in front of me, however, it's behind a bush looking for the source of the yelling. It paused briefly then lit out after the other critters. I can see it all like yesterday.

Two years ago my wife and I were driving past a field with two hens and a bunch of chicks and about 150 yards down the road I saw a coyote sneeking up to them in the tall hay.So I pulled over and started jogging toward the coyote it just crouched down and let me get about 20 yards away before it it turned and ran.Boy did my wife give me a boat load of crap for that. Now I nver go in the woods without a weapon of some sort.Looking back it wasn't the smartest thing I've done.

I was scouting for turkeys a few years ago and stopped by a field just before roost time . I was watching a pair of longbeards across a field ,they were about 10 yards from a stone wall when a coyote jumped over the wall and grabbed one, killed it and dragged it back over the wall! Full mature longbeard and he killed it with ease.
