ed and Sally
I hope to be back out that way in the next 2 weeks to ride the Pine Creek Rail Trail with Dan. Will give you a call when we set a date and hopefully stop by for a visit!
Glad to hear there IS progress, however slow it may seem! ;-)
Take care, Brother!

I, as many of you, have seen a lot of Ed's work over the years, from the many donations to the Disabled Hunters Program and the UBP Banquets, to his many sketches and paintings, even his flint knapping seminars. And for me, my elk ivory pendant, designed and crafted by Ed. All pale in comparison to his latest project; his home! It is classic EW! Congrats my brother, your greatest works are yet to come.
Hoping to share a campfire near the end of Sept!
Dan and I stopped by on the way back from Pine Creek yesterday. Ed gave us a tour of the place and gave us a full explanation of the engineering behind the structure, as well as the grounds. As you can imagine, great thought and purpose went into just about every aspect of the property! And I think as much thought went into making it one with nature, as evidenced by only native plant species incorporated into the "landscape"(including the clover and trefoil planted down the center of the driveway ;-)
As much as we talked about the new homestead, we talked almost as much about the "community" that helped make it happen. Both the local community and the UBP community. It is apparent that it means as much, if not more to Ed than the structure itself! He just kept saying how much it meant to him to have a "family" that stepped up for the Wentzler's in their time of need.
I can't wait to go back to visit when everything is done.
I told Ed he has the best and most elaborate permanent treestand I have ever seen! ;-)
Ed, I understand if ya' don't want to put up pics here(but, I hope you do anyway:)), so send me some on the email if that's the case. Really does my heart good to hear all of this. Either way, I couldn't be happier for you and Mrs. Ed.
Rog, funny, yer also one of my best friends..and we've never even met/yet :) I've got a full camera..ready to hook up to the puter. Haven't touched the download button yet...as I know it will shut down all other function. But this is the last of my 'administrative' work this AM...so....
lemme see..and I will try to get something up here.
Always good to hear from you2 Brother :)

Still amazaed how the Hopi knew to plant that vegetation(forget the name) next to their bean plants as a natural pesticide to keep the beetles away from them(beans). Was amazing how the plants right next to the beans were destroyed, but the beans were untouched.
Keep being you, Brother. And don't ever apologize for it! ;-)
:) But closer by the day, I guess? All the appliances are hooked up. But the only ones which use water I've 'turned on' are the commodes. Results of the water tests should be in by mid-week, pending results we'll 'fire up' the rest.
I halted work on the inside about three weeks ago to concentrate on getting several flood damage prone areas of the grounds prepared and seeded...and to address several facets of concern with the outer structure in the face of cold weather arriving. Included insulating the under stair alcove where our water system is located (95% completed), and preparing to protect the roofing and water drainage from frigid temps. I'm just ready to begin that one..and need just a few more hot afternoons to make the job well done instead of mediocre. ( I doan like mediocre :) I'll watch the weather and pray...but will settle for mediocre as better than not atall? Gotta add, for them what wonders what's taking so long, a lot of time was alos spent 'cleaning up' stuff that didn't get cleaned up over the last month or three 'cuz I was too busy...being busy?? That included but was not limited to; repairing a ton of crap that wouldn't be crap if someone repaired it, palletizing nearly everything in case of another need to evacuate, doing routine maintenance on tools and equipment, and putting a half ton of paper work in order and in proper file.
I have forced myself to take about 2 and one half days 'off' in the last month for a forced march scouting/recon/collecting session or two....much enjoyed!
Other than that not much happening here ;)
