Who is the Best?
Wisconsin

We all agree that the hunting industry(professional hunters)have let us down in various degrees as far as sound judgment and image. But who do you think has done the best job of creating a positive view and makes good sound shots on animals?
My vote is for Fred Eichler.
With his new show "Uncharted" my vote would have to be Jim Shockey
Jim Shockey - Uncharted is really good television
Redfield’s Redzone with Laura Francese
Can't get anymore positive than that...
Noel Feather...now that's funny, I don't care who you are...
Hahahahaha! Are you admitting you know of him lame????
I was camping at a shoot for the WBH one time many many moons ago and had gotten into the barley and hops more than I should have. I was yelling where is Noel while sitting around the campfire. I received some very interesting responses.
"Hahahahaha! Are you admitting you know of him lame????"
What was it again?? Lacey Act. Don't exactly remember but as one guy said he became the Pete Rose of the industry.
Dan Small does a nice job
I like Shockey. Sadly most of the best hunters out there are hidden from view of the public. Every state has a few. Heck theres a guy in Merrill that has a house full of giant Bucks that no one knows about . Most are arrowed on public land when hes not busy at church or his family. The public needs to know about these real hunters.
Not the TV hot shots.
I still like the Primos guys. Will....
Yes, now there's local guy - Dan Small. Great guy and a true Outdoorsman!
Who can forget Noel Feather and his hit video "Bitter Cold Bucks" A classic!
Barry Wensel..Bow hunting October Whitetails.
The problem with TV hunters is now they go to school to become independent video contrators..they have very little life experience as they are 20 something..and are labeled a professional hunter as they are earning a living producing shows..they then get buddies to film hunts...to pad their hunts to fill a season...almost non of these green horns have the experience to be labeled a professional hunter..you got kids...exhibiting what hunting is all about..kids have know idea...I don't care who mentored them..they are kids ..not people who should be representing hunting on TV..
It use to be all video dudes were big ol time hunters who made a name by creating tactics..ideas..and had speaking seminars to help others....now TV hunts are canned outfitters or pen kills..The guy killing is just writing a check.. A business expense deductible check for his hunt...
There is nothing left..what TV show..hunts without outfitters?
Who is hunting? The outfitter? Or the guy writing the check?
Actually "bitter Cold Bucks" was shot in what appeared to be a high fence operation in my opinion. The wooded area were the filming took place was void of any real underbrush and the tree canopy allowed for nothing to grow. Very unnatural and suspicious.
Deer hunting video was brand new at the time and the audience was easily swayed to believe just about anything!
Ya, I like our Wisconsin "home grown" Dan Small. Not a professional hunter but a TV Outdoor guy!
Eichler, Shockey and Rinella.
Talked with Fred @ the WBH afew years ago. super nice and down to earth.
That being said I would much rather talk with amazing real hunters like BigDan, Blacktail Bob orCheesehead Mike.
Fresh tracks with Randy Newberg and Tom Miranda
Tred Barta then if Noel is out
Antlerwhore, as a Independent Industrial/Commercial Video Producer that has made a living at my career for over 30 years, you absolutely nailed it. Reality is they are there for their marketing prowess not necessarily hunting ability. The reason, infomercials! That is all they are.
M.R. James, Dwight Schuh & Fred Eichler definitely!
I am kind of starting to like Cody Robbins. He was a long time member of Shockey's crew. He has lots of pasion for the sport. Maybe too much sometimes but he sure has fun.
Shockey and Eastmans, uncharted is great. Had to look up where the heck Papua New Guinea was.
I also like Raised Hunting, hunting family raising their kids the right way. Teaching the kids responsibility and respect.
Laura Francese, Met her last year! Great person, former Buffalo Bills Cheerleader. Shots bow. HOTTTTT!!!!
I really think, that those of us, who really hunt and hunt alot, do not care. As long as you hunt fair chase, and are a decent person, your the best in my book
I have met Dwight Schuh out west, I can only say, he was just a nice fine person, but he is just another guy who loves to hunt, no more than you
Jim Shockey's Dad and Father In Law - Hal & Len!
Both guys were class acts and hunted from the heart!
I MISS them both!
Hunted with Noel for years. Best hunter I ever hunted with in the day was Art Laha. In the 50's and 60's --
jay Gregory is pretty good.
