I drew Hominy this year and have never hunted in that area, I was hoping someone who has had some luck back there would chime in and let a guy know about where you saw the most movement, (open fields, persimmon patches, creek bottoms, ridges,).I've hunted Boggy twice and Deer Creek once. I missed the biggest deer of my life in Boggy right across the road from Beartrap and a P/Y in Deer Creek behind the bowling alley in early Oct...it seems like the further from the road you go, the less movement you see??? Thanks for the info....Andy

Hello Andy, ive hunted Hominy a few times. In my opinion its the best area on the depot. Talk to the whitehat in that area and find out what the deer are feeding on the most. But you cant go wrong hunting around the duck marsh. Ive also noticed that the deer dont mind the roads, hunted just off an a-t road last time I was there saw lots of deer got a spike and a doe. Good luck

Thanks for the info, just tryin to narrow down a few spots before we get there.... Some guys say their best luck was in the wide open hay fields, then the next guy says avoid the wide open and the tree lines. I ve never seen the big numbers of deer that people talk about down there, but Boggy and Deer Creek are thicker than Hominy, I think? It's just tough to find a great spot in 3 hrs of scouting when you ve never stepped foot on that ground....so hoping someone will turn loose of info on a sleeper spot in Hominy!!!!!

Every place ive hunted in hominy has been good. Best thing is to find out if they are on the acorns or fields. A lot will depend on what weekend you are there. Dont overlook the big burr oaks along the creeks. The a-t road just north of the duck marsh if you follow it all the way to the west end it drops off into a nice bottom with a creek running north , south. If you are there during the chase phase it can be really awsome. If you drew early they may be on the persimmons, theres a lot of persimmons on the south end thats where the fields and tree lines are at. Good luck Daren

It depends a lot on the weekend u drew but I would agree the duck marsh would be good especially early.
