Would you shoot it?
I just realized this is an old story but there was a new one in th enews this weekend.
The tables were turned Monday as man encountered an albino Bambi.
Danbury resident Joseph Novella was caught like a deer in headlights upon spotting the all-white animal cross in front of his vehicle near the Redding Road.
"It was shocking," he said. "At first, I didn't instantly recognize it as a deer." How rare is such a sight? "One out of every 30,000 would have that trait as being an albino," said Howard Kilpatrick, a wildlife biologist with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).
John Horkel, executive director of Earthplace -- The Nature Discovery Center, said an albino deer is "sort of like the black squirrels around here."
Of course I'd shoot it. I don't discriminate.
screw indian legend,id shoot one..whats the worse thing that can happen, spend the rest of eternity in a firery pit of poop with garden gnomes beatch slapping me into submission ?
No ,watched her for about 4 years then just disappeared
Piebald is more common than albino.....
Back to the point - yes I would shoot both
I shot this piebald buck last year, only a 4 point but couldn't pass on him. Tasted great.
where did you shoot it DK?
Newtown, on my family's farm
Ther is (was?) a herd in Shelton a few years ago.
I saw 6 in the woods behiond my work at lunch one day.
I have seen Albino's in Newtown for the past 10 years or so, Tunnel Rd Area. Really cool looking. My friend lives over there and he has been seeing 2.
I was referring to the piebald herd.. never have seen an albino
I know for a fact a group of fallow were released in harwinton. They were all white. My friend shot one in the roarback and a pic of a nice buck made the front page of the bristol press. It was hanging out at the cemetary on rt 6. It was killed by a car on rt 6 christmas eve that year. The night i saw it it was like a ghost deer.
Mine from the photo was from Shelton but I have seen them in other towns .
This one is running around Danbury.
