Look at this bear, but look at it real close, look at the hide on this bear. I have seen rubbed hides before especially in the Spring but not this late in the year. What do you think causes this? its the same on the other side also.

Strange, no clue what's up. Only guess is some sort of parasite might be making him rub the hair off. But then you would think the front end would be rubbed too.

Maybe it is a self defense/survival tactic. I mean who wants to shoot a bear with no fur? ;-)

Guy shot at it with a crossbow as it was quartering away. The bolt wash blew the hair right off the bear as it flew wide right.
