When has everyone been seeing deer on the trail cams? I have most activity from 7-11am on weekdays in middlebury, private land.
4am-630am and 5-7 pm peak times but pretty much all day
Trailcameras this year are showing mostly early morning movement, which is odd because the last few years it was always late afternoon movement. Depends on wind condition where and what time I'll be hunting for the most part.
Usually this is the time of year when a lot of guys start asking where did all the deer disappear to or why the deer turned nocturnal...? Once a few guys get in the woods, do late preseason scouting and get a little sloppy, leave scent around - the deer catch right onto it. Poof. Gone.
Areas I plan to hunt, mostly 6-830AM.
A few stragglers through the day... but that has been the sweet spot. A good number between 11PM and 3AM as well.
I'm guessing that it all depends on WHERE your cams are located,........near bedding or near food or in between?
If you're closer to the food source then maybe the activity is early morning and if you're near the bedding area it may be later in the morning?
Like clock work 630am near food source and water hole. Some neighbor deer in the evening at sunset 745pm coming to same foodsource.
OntheHunt
there you go!!
Now if I'm hutning the same area as you, but I have my camera on the bedding area I would be thinking the routine is very different,....and it would be for me.
I'm seeing morning mostly but no shooters. It's all does towing skippers.
