I have been using this site for a number of years and it is extremely helpful when it comes to wind direction. Let me know what you think.
Nice site, thanks for sharing.
I would like it better if it had times for sunrise and sunset and moon rise and moon set, and if the times were broken down in hourly increments instead of three hour increments. And, if there is no airport around your out of luck.
Try the mobile app for Scoutlookweather.com
It gives weather and satellite map of your location, then shows the wind direction were your sitting
Airport, USFS and DNR weather stations are in the open and away from building mostly level ground. Wind is not eye level but 30'.
The site is good for consultation and I have used it but I also have Scoutlookweather on my phone and find it to be a bit better. I use weatherunderground too since there are a lot of stations closer to my hunting areas. I have a station at my house in Seeley that is listed on weatherunderground.
Utilizing many sources is good and I am not slamming anyone's choice here but just giving input. Where I hunt it is hilly and wooded, never open so winds and even micro climate can be different than most weather sites.
Hooray!
Hats off to a great thread that someone can use for hunting!
Thanks Maya2003 for posting - good thread!

A link to the weather station at my home. Zoom out and you will see other stations to select too.
That is a great link! I also use my local airport, but this is slick as I just entered it as a favorite on my phone.
Yea right :-) . It can be blowing north at the house. Blowing west on the weather APP. And blowing south at the stand.

Agree with Ruger, so variable, but at least a starting point for educated guesses. I use this one as one of several when trying to plan best days to fish Lake Michigan in summer, or plan which stands to hunt in fall/winter (even though it's 60 miles or so south). If you click on the "click for more data" link, you can see a whole week's worth of predictions.
