Take a look at the next few pics. I believe he is 2.5 - 3.5 years old and would normally let a deer that age pass. After studying QDM techniques and talking to a friend in TX who is a deer biologist we believe that he has inferior genetics and will continue to pass them on. He shows up almost daily. So the question becomes take him or leave him to grow one more year?

I would not shoot that deer.

You PRESUME he will be around for another year if YOU don't shoot him. He's never going to taste any better.

Are those dates/times correct? He shed his velvet in 12 hours...pretty cool.

And the QDM thing is nice to talk about....but if you want to kill him, kill him. If not, keep waiting. It's YOUR decision, please do not let any of us influence you.

Blood the dates and times are correct. I was hoping he would still be in velvet this week and it would have been a no brainier. Always wanted to take one in velvet.

As much as everyone likes big racks you can't eat horns.....he looks like some tasty deer bologna!

This is all private land and I am the only one that hunts it so I am not too worried about someone else taking him.

Id shoot for meat, get him out of the herd. Looks like he isnt going to get much better next year or the year after.
