That's awesome! But he looks way too young to be walking in those dangerous mountains with a weapon. He could accidentally shoot somebody. He should be at home on the couch playing video games, not spending quality time with his dad in the mountains. ;)

You're right, mjenkins- and this cute little girl should be home safe in the city instead of out finding out firsthand where groceries come from. Actually, she had to choose between a couple sweet sixteen parties and quality time with her dad in the mountains. I had my bid for her time in first, so she ended up doing this last weekend.

We almost got a double on this set up with two bulls coming in. I must have hit a good note on the bugle finally. Unfortunately for my hunting partner, I shot first and got this guy and the other bull spooked.

Some times a cow is all you need to fill the freezer! Love that we have all this OTC DIY hunts that we can be successful on! congrats to you all on great animals!

You will not hear me complain about taking a cow like I did last season and I definitely will not complain if I take in cow bison in Wyoming this December! Talk about putting meat in the freezer(s)!

Lovin' those big Kansas whitetails! We had tough hunting due to unseasonably warm weather with highs in the 60/70's and lows in the mid-40's. Thankfully, the Arctic Blast hit Kansas Monday night and it got the bucks moving 30 minutes before dark and this bruiser walked by my tree stand within 20 yards.
My first whitetail and the bar is now set high for next year!
