Got out of work early, decided to hit woods for a few hours, 1 hr later 12:45 see a small buck to my left out of corner of my eye, didn't hear anything. I was sitting on ground on state land. He was about 35 yards away, stopped behind tree, I drew and waited for what seemed forever, then let my draw down as he wasn't moving. Then he appeared from behind tree, looked right at me ( wind was swirling around and at that time blowing directly to him), he then dropped his head and quartered away, I drew and hit what looked to be low. Range finder showed 38-40 yards. Crap. But found arrow and decent blood trail. MY first! And then it hit me, I forgot to live hunt, lol.
