Got in the same tree I killed a doe a last month, but was second guessing myself thinking lightening rarely strikes twice. Around 5:50pm I saw movement towards the right. I drew but couldn't see what it was because of real heavy thick saplings and briars. I thought it could be a bobcat or coyote or if its a deer, it had to be a yearling because it seemed small. I waited & waited and nothing moved. I picked up binos and glassed but still nothing. I put binos back down and picked up grunt tube and grunted a few times. I saw movement again. I could now see it was a decent size deer. Picked up the binos and lost it again for a few minutes. Everything was thick and it was getting dark with clouds and it was 6:10pm. I picked up grunt tube again and softly grunted and I saw ears twitching. It looked like a big doe - more venison for the freezer. Her head was to the ground munching on white acorns like a vacuum cleaner sucking up popcorn. I could only see the silhouette of her body because the saplings were like a wall of twigs... but I had a small window opening if she took another step - and she did. I let it fly, 25yd money-shot, pass thru and she mule kicked big time. I heard a crash soon after. I never looked at her head, I was more focused on the vitals and the window opening. When I came up on the doe (25yd recovery), first thing I saw was big tarsal glands. Then I saw antlers. 6 pointer.

Thanks. I usually do morning MLH for those at work to follow along with, keep juices flowing, not so much with afternoon hunts.

I meant to add I found season's first rubs on property. They were new with fresh shavings at base of saplings.
