Marked Yardage (optional) 3D Shoot Sunday, October 19, 2014, on our 3D Course Ready for some fun? Niantic Sportsmen’s Club will host an (optional) marked-yardage 3D shoot on Sunday, October 19, from 7 a.m. to noon. The NSC crew has been hard at work in our beautiful woods setting up awesome scenarios for your shooting pleasure. You may be as competitive as you like or shoot for fun! Yardages are marked at each station but shooters will have to actively seek them out. This will be a trophy shoot with medals awarded to first-place winners in M&F classes: open, bowhunter, traditional, crossbow and youth. Eligibility requires three shooters in a group and at least three participants in each class. The 3D course is a 40 Rinehart target “hunters’ course” that presents realistic hunting scenarios spread out over varied terrain…but is easy to walk and can be completed in under three hours. It’s very family-friendly and fun for all abilities. Hike through our shady and breezy woods and shoot moose, deer, caribou, bears, buffalo, coyotes, pronghorns, turkey, alligator, and other small game. There are two treestand shots at double bucks that will get your blood pumping! Come for free coffee and donuts in the a.m., with lunch and cold drinks available. There’s a free raffle ticket with each paid entry. Win $$$$ at the novelty shoot! Adults $15; 12-15 $10; 11 and under free. Niantic Sportsmen’s Club is a Connecticut Archery Association and IBO member club; contact [email protected] or call Greg 860.460.0670 or Chris 860.227.9193.

Directions to NSC —Interstate 95 North or South: Take Exit 71 (Four Mile River Road), turn right and proceed north to stop sign at Route 1. Turn right and go .4 mile to Plants Dam Road just after Rustic Cafe; take right turn there. The club is about .7 mile on the right. At the clubhouse, turn hard right and go uphill to the Archery building for registration.
