Puffball, good eating!

Yes, I agree...with limits. Caution only. cut into it...it solid and white throughout, no stem. Puffball..and one of the better ones. Doan't eat 'em tho' if they show any hint whatsoever of yellow..they're 'too far gone'. Otherwise.. slice a half inch thick, sautee in butter, add your favorite spices (salt/pepper hard to beat :)....and a few choice rare venison cuts...veggies or salad of your choice...and call yerself a gor mett cookie :) You'd pay moron you's wanna fer a similar meal..out among folk...you'd really not rather:) Nice photo, too!!

That's a beauty. Yep. Giant puffball. Ed is right 'on the ball'... good eating if snow white inside, anything else is too far gone. Treat any size puffball the same... little ones are good too.
