I received these photos this morning. I was told it was killed yesterday on Rum Creek in Logan County by Zach Marcum. We all know how photos like this fly around this time of year and end up being jokes. Do any of you know if the info I received is true? If so, big congrats to Zach Marcum!

wvbuckmaster, glad to hear that it is authentic.

sundaynwv, I will be anxious to hear what the measurements are. If anyone hears, please update this thread

165 gross 154 net

In the words of David Blanton, "That thing was a 165 about 2-3 years ago."

Goodness what a deer. Congrats to the hunter. God Bless

That was the official green score by a certified scorer. It suprised me, it looks bigger.

27-Oct-14
Unless the photo is VERY, VERY, VERY misleading, that score needs to be remeasured. That pic makes it appear MUCH, MUCH, MUCH larger than that measurement. Just sayin... God Bless

I know and I agree. IDK??

From: sundaynwv

Based on the bottom pic, I was guessing 180, 190 or even more. I guess I am wrong and obviously never killed one this big.

Kenny, is that a typical or non-typical score?

He should get scored again by different scorer just to confirm. That brute is awesome...when i first saw it i thought 180's. 15 scorable points. Awesome mass and length.

When you look at the one that was harvested illegally in Romney and that supposedly green scored 161. How does this one score 165?

From: ken

typical only one non typical point 4 inches off the left g3 still a great buck the buck was killed last week so its dry time will be up in late dec for official scoring

He was scored by greg surber and an official scorer for pope and young and records chair for wv.

From: ken

JR you don't have to doubt it anymore and Greg is not blind

28-Oct-14
Ken---Just having some fun, i am sure Greg is a competent scorer...

But he does look way bigger

My xwife used to live in Chapmanville and I used to go through Chief Logan and see those nice bucks. Used to see a few in your development Ken that were nice.

there are still albinos in the park/and there are a lot more big ones in the housing area/I reread your post still says the same thing/don't live in the same area anymore

I am not sure why you don't understand. I do not doubt that he was scored.

28-Oct-14
I just don't get it. I just can't grasp it and never will unless I see the rack in person. I set here and type this across the room from a 150"+ typical ten point that isn't in the same zip code that deer is in. At least from the pics. Not even close. It just blows my mind.

I too was in the 180-190 range guessing from the pics. Not doubting the score ken so, no need to feel that way. I just can't grasp it from the pics. God Bless

Looks to me, like he is in a sink hole, prob. why we can't see his legs. That is a nice buck and it scoring 154 does not make him a lesser buck. That is why I could care less what a buck scores. Anyone that would not shoot a buck like that would be foolish in any state. Congrats to the man that killed him, you have a fine buck.

Will never forget the first year huntin at the lease in Mingo co. The first time I saw an adult, mature, monster of a buck. Actually left me shaken. Wow!!!

From: CGBowhunter

Largest buck I have ever seen while hunting was about 100 in. Not sure I would have to have someone pinch me if I saw something bigger. I know they are out there. Get trail pics.
