I'm with 10. Nothing happening where I hunt. Saw a buck in an open field yesterday and another today. Both 1.5, and both doing what bucks do this time of year. On their feet looking for a girl who is early. I'm sure they don't all come into estrous at the same time, so I'm sure those sightings you saw will start to get reported more often as we approach Halloween and beyond. In my opinion, the date in which fawns drop in the spring has more to do with the rut than the moon. Daytime activity seems to coincide with a date, and the coolness of each particular day. I'm sure a deer would rather chase when it was cool, like we would rather jog in that same weather as well? And I would rather walk or drive lol.

3 bucks tonight on a chopped corn field. Out eating in a group at 5:30 pm. Grunts, rattles, bleats didnt make them give up the buffet they were enjoying.

I was hunting a wooded pond tonight. About 5:15pm a doe came in, then I heard another deer behind her, I peered between two panels of my GhostBlind to her right, a fawn was coming in and about 140" ten pointer was standing behind her. The fawn saw me move and started acting alert, but the buck paid her no mind. He came in and drank between the doe and fawn at 30 yards. He finally turned broadside, I drew and shifted to my right to shoot between the top of the panels and he ducked the arrow.

Have seen 2 chasing sequences on stand, both by 1.5 yr olds. Last night while driving though, I watched a 150+ chase does in an alfalfa field. He didn't care about being watched, only what the does were doing. Didn't think the big boys were ready yet, but he was. I'm assuming one of the does was hot.

Sat this morning, and listened to a buck chase a doe around a bean field in total darkness. They ran back and forth. Soon as there was a hint of daylight they slipped into the corn. At 7:30 a lone buck appeared at the north end of the bean field. That is it! I have a bad feeling about the pre-rut pattern I'm seeing in my area. With that full moon coming, the rut maybe a night time deal. That would suck!

I hunted Friday morning along a corn field and marsh, nothing was moving didn't see a deer. Cameras are showing more evening movement. Are the does hiding from the bucks because they are being harassed, that's my guess?

Walking out I heard two different deer grunting out in a winter wheat field (stubble and manure). They went in the woods where I came from as I stepped out. Heard them did not see them. This morning I heard (in darkness) a buck grunting. Sounded like two deer as they blew at me. Wind was right, but they must have seen me?
Saw nothing on stand except a red fox. Distant sirens set off a family of coyotes that was pretty crazy. Crying and howling like mad. Hunted until 9:30. Warm and windy southern Wisconsin.

Hit an 8 point buck with my car that was chasing a doe at 10:30pm last week. In the woods I haven't heard a grunt but have seen bucks scraping, rubbing, but not chasing.

Lowering my bow at around 10 this morning I go to put my pack on, and look to my left, and to my surprise, I see a decent 8 pointer at 40 yards. I lift my bow, grab my call out of my pocket, and grunt at him while he was walking away. He stops. I put my release on the d loop, and grunt again, and he comes my way. Stops at 20 yards quartering to me. Another deer I didn't see tokk a couple bounds. I figured the second deer must have seen me, and both left in opposite directions. I did not see the scond deer, but I'm guessing another buck? The eight was perhaps 110 inches. I would not have shot him. I do know the deer and he was 3.5, and did not gain much from last season.

Came to full draw this morning on a very nice 8 pointer. He was moving in front of me from left to right. I saw him came to full draw but i wasn't sure the distance. I knew he was out a bit, and while thinking about how much higher i should aim the opportunity walked away. After watching him for about 10 minutes. I came to draw one more time all he needed to do was take one more step....He never did and walked away. Oh well it was awesome. He was alone. After my heart stopped beating out of control. I looked at my bow i had my adjustable at 30 and the buck was at 37. I think i could have made the shot, but still glad i didn't take it. I also pulled the card on a camera on the way out in the morning. I'll post the pictures in order. Seems their must have been more action going on and I only saw one buck headed to bed 500 yards north of this spot an hour later. looks like chasing.

2 minutes later the nice 8 shows up in that spot. Far right of photo. At 7:15 that deer is 500 yards north of this spot alone. It was a great hunt. This culvert crossing had does and bucks crossing it most of the night, but nothing else once the sun came up. To bad i can't get back out till wednesday night now..

Saw a 4+year old 8 standing with a doe in green Lake this morning. Every time she took a step he would take one. Paid no mind to us watching him from the truck 75 yards away. At 955 we saw three year old ten making a scrape just off the highway.

I'm tagged out but I drove from Dubuque to roughly Green Bay yesterday and the number of large deer dead o the highway was amazing. All of them had the antlers sawed off but many of the bodies were very large. That tells me they have to be doing some moving.

Had a spike chasing a couple does in a food plot last night. But tonight went to a different area and saw 5 does with nothing else around them. Little bucks do the harassing and the big bucks in the area do the breeding if the buck to do ratio is close.

Watched a 2.5 year old 6 pointer, mingle with a doe for well over 30 minutes on Saturday evening. He wasn't chasing her, but wherever she walked/fed/browsed, he was behind her 10-15 feet. Only time he left her, was to walk about 20 yards away to check a scrape, then back to her side. Then they disappeared over a hill together. Other than that, no signs, no grunting; but the scrapes just all appeared over the last 6 days. And 3 new bucks just showed up on trail cameras, one of which looks to be 140+ inches, which is a big one for my area!

Got a group of 3 does that come through the yard every day. Yesterday afternoon while feeding the dogs. They walked through with a fork horn in tow. First time we seen him all year. This was around 4 pm and maybe 50yds from the dogs!

I know of 2 groups hunting Buffalo County that saw shooters on their feet this morning. One friend passed 2 very marginal bucks. They are shooters for me where I hunt. No talk of chasing but the bigger bucks are cruising.

Hunted 29th at 5:15 a doe+fawn entered the field within 5 minutes a micro spike was grunting and chasing the doe. They lost him and he came in 13 yards in front of me, but that was it for deer. Attached is the only buck picture during daylight, but scrapes are getting hammered(at night).

On Wednesday afternoon around 1pm, I had a 3.5 year old 8 pointer bird dog a doe for 10 minutes, and then up over a hill out of sight. I would have shot him for sure, but never got a shot.
