I am in the market for a trail camera. I don't want to break the bank but I also don't want to have to replace it in a year. Any suggestions? I have heard positive comments about maultrie

Whichever you decide on, include cost for lockbox and python cable lock - it keeps honest people honest.

If you can find a Browning Range Ops 6mp or 8mp (BTC-1) I highly recommend for a first time trailcam under $100. Super quick trigger speed, fast recovery speed and detection range of 60ft plus. Its rated higher than the 2014 version, Browning Range Ops XR. If you go on eBay or do a google search you can find them out there. They have all the bells and whistles, worthy battery shelf life and have the time lapse plus feature - takes time lapse photos in the predetermined time window and then turns back into trail cam mode outside the time lapse window.
