In addition to the antelope hunt I got lined up for the banquet I have been able to line up a New Mexico bear hunt with dogs. This is the hunt I've went on the last couple of years and have had a great time as well as taking a couple of great bears. Alan Bennett who is originally from Monroe county is the outfitter for these hunts. You have a really good chance at big bears cause he dosen't release dogs on small tracks. Also, which is what attracted me to this hunt is about a 50/50 chance at a color phase bear.
This isn't a cheap 400.00 Canadian bear hunt but the minimum is very, very reasonable considering the retail cost of the hunt. A successful bidder can also take a buddy for the retail cost.
Alan's website can be visited at pinnacle outfitters. com

This is a unique bear hunt. No sitting over a bait pile fighting mosquitoes and black flies. Typical day is up by 3 and checking for tracks before daylight. Usually 4-6 vehicles going in different directions looking for the biggest tracks . Then a decision is made where to hunt. Once the scent is picked up things start to get exciting !!
The day is usually done by 3-4 because the scents dry up and they don't want to release dogs too close to dark.
If you like to bear hunt you owe it to yourself to try it with dogs at least once. I wasn't sure if I would like it or not . Usually as bowhunters we think of ourselves as solitary hunters trying to be as quiet as possible. A dog hunt is anything but solitary and quiet but it is fun!!

Can't really say the minimum because it is an auction and that would kinda defeat the purpose. The retail cost is 2850.00 and I can say that the minimum is a significant discount. Better than most Black Friday discounts. Remember we are trying to raise funds for the WVBA to help all bowhunters in WV.
