from now until thanksgiving should it be the best hunting all year? just wondering what everyone is thinking.

Month of November is the best. I think the specific week's or day's are local. Meaning in spot A November 4-7 is killer, but in spot B 20 miles away November 12-15 is money. Just get in a tree and put the time in :)

I agree with Will. In general, Nov is the golden month, but each area you hunt will have it's own cycle that it goes through dependent on the deer in that general area.

If I was in a spot that had consistent doe patterns, I would definitely put that on the list of spots to hunt, just don't over hunt it.

According to D&DH magazine the actual rut is from Nov 10-20.

Agree with Deer and deer huntings dates as Big D said. Thanksgiving they should be in lock down mode.

I think it is now. I was sitting in my home office this morning at 9:22 and a buck that I have only night time pictures of came strolling thru the back of my property right by where my camera is. Needless to say I am going to be out tomorrow morning hoping he strolls by again. Now is the time to be at it!

Yeah,

I say everyone else should stay home Thanksgiving weekend and leave the woods to me, there's no deer out at that time anyways ;)

Rule #1 - you can't shoot them from your couch!

P.S. - I shot my deer on 11/8/14, outside the rut according to D&DH Magazine, so do I have to give him back? :) You just never know, you just never know.

Shot my first buck on thanksgiving also saw deer a bunch of times on thanksgiving over the years. Not a bad day to be out at all.

For the past 3 mornings deer walked by my stand between 6am and 8:30am and I was not there for various reasons. Today I finally made it into the woods but the deer did not show at all. Tomorrow, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday I will be back waiting with a Grim Reaper tipped arrow for the collusion of the worlds. I need to get my Thanksgiving tenderloin poison, LOL, and I will work for it.
