I was going to sit this spot early AM on Saturday, but had a mishap and forgot some of my gear at home.....Pissed at myself, I hunted a different piece in the morning with nothing, sitting until 1030 a.m.
Fast forward to this afternoon, I got into my climber, around 1:45 PM where I wanted to hunt this morning, and had 3 huge long beards go by around 40 yards, I did not have a tag though. At 4:15 I heard movement to my left and saw a nice buck working his way toward me. @ 25 yards he started making a scrape, I put the X-bow scope on him and squeezed. The buck ran 100 yards, and fell in the river nearby. This was the 3rd deer within 300 yards I have taken from the same piece of property this year. My early season was terrible, but within 2 weeks, it turned around. You just have to keep trying, and not give up. Hope everyone is having a good season. The x-bow I am using is the Parker Centerfire.
