Being self employed and busy is a good thing but being too busy to get out in the woods flat out sucks! With that said, took off yesterday morning to finish my leaves so city could pick up Mon. While in my back yard with the push blower I watch 2 bucks running several does back and forth across a area if wetlands behind my house. Blower didn't bother them one bit...as if they were taunting me! Funny how I sit in a tree for hours and see nada...in my back yard leaf blowing I see the best action I've see in 2 seasons! Go figure!

Would it be too much to tote in your leaf blower next time you hunt? lol

Not a bad idea! Maybe I can hire some landscapers and ask them to help with a deer drive!

Tguzz yeah, they like to flip us off every once in a while, just their way for getting back at us I guess.

Driving to my private spot, I always see the biggest deer in the yards and of course, rarely from my tree stand. The hunting gods have a great sense of humor, thats for sure.

We didn't see a thing yesterday and no shots in our spot at all.

Sounds like a lot of fun. I had a similar experience a few saturday's ago. Got home from hunting in the AM (had seen 3 but no shots that morning) and while getting my gear together to fire up the leaf blower I look out and there is a very mature (big) 8 40 yards from my back door.
I swear they know :)

Went to check cams yesterday evening about 5PM. Five does right between me and the cams. Watched me pull up and were a bit on alert. Had to go right past them to get to the cam so I restarted the engine. As soon as I did that they went right back to eating and ignoring me. Guess they knew it meant I was leaving.

Plenty of deer movement behind my house lately also, but when I head to the 287 acre farm I hunt, it's dead. Sometimes I wonder if there are any deer left in Litchfield county.

I've been tempted to take a shot at a few that I've seen but I don't to deal with my neighbors, which is exactly where the deer would end up! Too many kids in my neighborhood also, I'd end up traumatizing everyone. Who needs that aggravation.

I have 5-6 different deer in my yard almost every night. All nocturnal except for a few times right around sunrise/sunset. I have no interest in killing any of them. I want the does to all have twins and the bucks to get bigger.
This summer until about the end of September I had 10 different deer coming all day long. Then, boom, it went mostly nocturnal. Next year I can think about taking one if it's the right thing to do.
