Feeding Frenzy This Afternoon

One of the best days to hunt will be today
i hear its taco tuesday, bbb
Because the deer are hungry and in search for food
I am here now and haven't seen any yet did see two shooters last night with a doe each they wouldn't move away
I was referring to this afternoon as the pressure drops due to big storms tomorrow
At the zoo there are 4 or 5 nice bucks if they only come out
I was thinking the same and was thinking of going out this afternoon. But then again with the warmer weather maybe not. I'm curious; anyone out this afternoon post if activity is more then usual.
This 3 ptr loves me Dave is playing with him now just grunted him in
Shoot it Steve. He is been teasing you all season. Get some blood on those arrows.
shoot spike then his big brothers will come to investagate,,bingo bango..easy.lol
4-5 shooters !!? I am in if you need help. I can shout them all out of range. LOL
Buckiller,
Agree with your assessment on movement this afternoon completely. I am planning on heading out around 11 or so and will sit through the afternoon.
The storm could run through most of tomorrow morning into Thursday morning so I fully expect to see heavy feeding all through the afternoon (and probably into the evening).
Forget the temperature; it's actually closer to normal for this time of year than the end of last week was. If you can get out this afternoon I highly recommend it.
The weather we have coming should have them out and about.
The weather we have coming should have them out and about.
How about tomorrow morning before the heavy stuff moves in, might give it a try.
I think the taco Tuesday is the deal breaker, so I hope you're out there already.
I'll make a bet. I say you won't see any more or any less deer than when the pressure is falling or rising. I've read conflicting articles over the years that say the weather DOES effect them and others that say it DOESN'T.
My experience, I've never seen any difference, I wish you luck.
Now if only there was a kielbasa Friday I'd be all set.
Let's do a group hunt survey and see what happens.
Great idea Six!
There have been a few times this fall when some of us have posted that the calendar says this is the best day or time to hunt, but we never hear if good things happened or not, so it would be really interesting to hear the results.
I got my buck on 11/8/14, 2 days before the "calendar" said the rut woul start, and it was a clear, beautiful day with no storms approaching. So for me the calendar was stike one and the weather was strike two.
Steve, Looks like you've been seeing alot of the same young deer in that field. Maybe a suggestion would be to move off the field edge and get back into the woods where maybe the big one is staging before entering the field at dark. Good Luck
Full draw we tried that it's so thick we can't get a foot in the woods with out busting them out i have seen them in the field the last two night but they came out were we can't hunt they make a mistake now and then just not yet thanks Steve
Ladies and gentlemen, tonight was a good night. I had deer feeding on grass in both fields. Both were bucks; 6 and 8. The one on the left came in to 51 yards and then changed direction heading to his right back into the woods. The one in the right field let me close in to 65 yards and he pegged me taking off towards the power lines brush. To make this even better about 50-60 geese were also feeding in the right field as well. The fields are divided by a row of brush and young trees about 10-20 yards wide. Hunting from the ground I had no shot due to distance, angle and brush. Anyway, it was relaxing to just watch them going about their life as I was there trying to end it, LOL.
SixLomaz,
Why aren't you in a blind in the field?
@Wild Bill,
Are you suggesting placing the blind smack in the middle of the field? The fields are rather large, 140 yards wide by 310 yards long. I do have a blind setup on one edge near one of their routes but I prefer to be on foot, mobile, in order to adjust my position quickly when deer appear. They do change their entry and exit points every day. During rut it is even more chaotic as I see them show up from totally unexpected directions now that the leaves are down in the bushes surrounding the fields. All in all it is fun to play on the same level with the game. Most times they peg me before I can take a good shot. I had few close encounters when odds were favorable to me. They do stage in the adjacent forest about 50-60 yards in but there are no trees I could climb as the forest is young.
