I use the exact same ones, 'cept I don't use the bleeders.

Very nice Roy. Love those Bear Razorheads.

Nice arrows bud. Self nocks in river cane? That's kind of risky isn't it? Have you ever had one split? I thought you added wood to the nock end and then carved the nock into that???

Jeff, I glue in an Osage insert then cut the nock into that. Never had any split. Ya notice the tiny cock feather indicator glued onto the nock? High Tech huh? LOL

Thanks guys..

They looked like pretty cool arrahs when I saw them. :) Fred patterned his Razorhead after Jack Zwickey's broadhead.

Yeah, that's what I thought ya did. I guess the self-nock thing threw me off cuz a self-nock would be carved right into the cane.

RC those are great arrows and you're right they're all you need.

03-Dec-14
Actually he needs something to shoot the arrows at...

Jeff, I know guys who do that with cane. They just wrap sinew in front of the nock and have had no problems. But I prefer the Osage insert. Just sounds more high tech:) LOL

Roy send me a dozen! Thanks! :)

I'll have to check these out at home. Can't see the pics here at work. ;-)

04-Dec-14
Those are some sweet lookin' arrahs, RC!! Looks like it took quite a bit of time and skill to put em' together. They look nothing like the ones I shoot, but I definitely can tell they would get the job done! Thanks for sharing...great thread!! ;-)

Josh, thanks. They are a pain in ass to make. But fun too:)

Dang Roy, those things sure are purty! :)

But how you get those twisty twirly things to shoot straight? Don't think they'd even be close to .003 straightness! ;-)

BTW, how appropriate that you say they are a "PITA" to make! (ifn' ya know what I mean! ;-)

Roy, real nice arrows, and your right about being a pain ass to make, to make it a bigger pain add some stone points and also self nock with just sinew wrap, never had one split except when stonehead hits hard maples. Bob

06-Dec-14
Very nice looking arrows, Roy!!!! Looks like retirement is treating you well.

PS. Are you going to come out and shoot with us now?

06-Dec-14
He quit shooting. Just spends his time making things he won't use.
