Not a drop of blood anywhere - we searched all the trails- first two guys gave up on the search.

Third guy on the search found the deer in the thickets only 30 yards away from the impact shot.

Wow- 105 pound doe dressed out

Bled internally? so strange that there was no blood at all!

Enjoy the fruits of your labor. Determination, persistence, uncertainty, and that near loss nagging feeling is what you had to go thru before finding the deer.

What is the story of this hunt? I see no exit wound. Some blood at the mouth indicates a lung hit.

Congrats, nice doe.

I had a rifle kill like this year. Perfect shot at buck around 50 yards. Thought I heard it crash. Didn't find a drop of blood till I found the deer about 60 yards from where I shot it.

I think it bled out internally. I even kept looking on the path it ran after I found the deer, and couldn't find any blood.

hey - I have been away - thanks for comments-

Regarding more details on what happened - My friend was hunting with a 308 in a blind - anything 100 yards or less is a 3 and o fastball for him - very good shot.

He hunts an overgrown meadow surrounded by woodlands - he mows trails about 6 ft wide through the overgrowth which the deer uses- the overgrowth is thick

Deer appeared only 40 yards away to his 9 oclock - he was confident that he hit it - we searched the impact zone and not a drop of blood anywhere. We followed all the mowed trains and deer trails outbound and still nothing -

3rd guy joined search and found the deer piled up only 30 yards from impact zone in the middle of the brush.

The shooter and I both had given up- glad the 3rd guy joined in-

No exit wound on the deer- shot drilled through the top of the left shoulder.
