To the best of my knowledge every piece of State Land that is huntable is indicated in the Regs book. I am aware of some parcels of State Land that are not huntable, Mohawk State Forest being the most notable, and for me, the closest example.

If it says state land you can hunt. State park signs say state park.

I called 3 different DEEP offices and asked the same question...each office said let me check the book...answer was....if its not in the book, its not huntable.
If the DEEP officers need to refer to the book, what do you think the State troopers are going to do when someone calls the cops? Dont be the Guinny Pig.

No problem. When the cop or warden approaches you, just remind them that as a taxpayer you own that land AND you also pay their salary. They love that and should just let you go on your way......

not all state land is open to hunting, regardless if there are yellow signs or not.
There are sections of Algonquin that are closed and sections that are open, same state land, different rules, so be careful to read the book.
