There is a nice buck on cam right now

There are a lot of these on the web. All appear to be either no-hunt or lightly-hunted refuges, or large leases or private parcels with little pressure. If you owned or leased thousands of acres and didn't allow others on, you could take your pick of the crop, too. You probably couldn't pay cameramen enough to film these TV "experts" in real-world situations that the majority of archers participate in, either heavily-hunted private land with no exclusive access, or public land with few deer but many hunters. Lots of hours with limited sightings doesn't make for an exciting wait or a good TV show, but that's the reality for most.
Here's a link to seven cameras in Texas, where they "Grow, Manage and Preserve Trophy Deer" ….

Lee & Tiffany's feeder is a Dr. Deer signature feeder.
Check the link out where ole Doc himself shovels the corn, and the bull (esp. on the "2-1/2" year-old buck claim).
Holy crap there was just a game warden on Howatt's link!
NAZ, the good DR. Troll has just been exposed for what he really is. My guess, sometime down the line it will surface the good Doctor isn't exactly what everyone really thinks he is.
It's not off topic Ron, it is a Dr. Deer signature feeder. Check the logo vs. the link provided with the good Doc.
Anyone with a brain knows if you lease or own hundreds (or thousands) of acres and restrict access, and use feeders to attract game and draw them in, you may see them at all hours of the day if nobody bothers them.
As for IA, baiting there is illegal, and feeding sites must be removed weeks prior to a season. If I was a CO I'd certainly be visiting that property in fall, numerous times.
I had the pleasure of talking with Lee and Tiffany at a sport show. They are top notch people IMO.They have a farm in Kansas also. Feeding there i believe is legal. It could be this feeder is in Kansas.

This is not against the law and it happens on many parcels right here in WI, minus the big feeders. I have pictures of a really nice buck, along with a few others that made it through the gun season that are now reappearing during daytime hours. What is the matter with someone posting this? It was meant merely for deer-watching.
Sorry Naz but in this instance you started speaking before the brain was engaged. All it served to do was highlight your bias.
They sure have a pecking order!
Couple nice bucks in there now
Sorry Mike, you must have missed this part: "WTH? I thought corn flipped a switch in a deer's brain making it incapable of even standing up when the sun is up???" which is why I wrote what you quoted.
Pineriver, nope, it's on the IA farm:

"… the Lakoskys have been successful out West hunting and hope it continues on their Iowa farm."
Stupid thread, who cares about semi-tame deer
You made me look … eight baldies in there. Looks like Lee and Tiff need to apply a little herd control. Oh wait, they can't hunt on the property with a feeder. Never mind.
Actually it's not a stupid thread. Gives you an opportunity to watch body language and see how they really never stop moving for more than a second. I want my own live cam now.
Fun to look at the body differences. You can really identify the older bucks with their sagging backs. It is also interesting how little meat there is on the hind quarter of a couple of these bucks from the rutting activity. Credit is given where credit is due! Best and most useful post you ever made Racncid
Or is it Howatt? Just think some poor bastard is sitting on a neighboring property wondering why he has not seen a deer since Nov. 17. LOL
Look at the number of deer that hit that feeder. Is it safe to say nearly all the deer within that property hit that feeder at one time or another? So focussing on a powdered form of inoculation for CWD is either a pipe dream or far fetched? I may wear a tin hat but, start pouring money into finding a cure for CWD and let hunters do the leg work. Think how good that would feel knowing you actually made a life altering difference while enjoying your recreation.
"I may wear a tin hat but, start pouring money into finding a cure for CWD and let hunters do the leg work." No tin hat. That very research has been ongoing for quite some time now. Currently there are both elk and deer that have been inoculated living among populations of their CWD positive brethren. Results will not start coming in until these animals live through their life cycles.
Thanks Howat-I am really hooked on watching this. 3:55 AM and two half rack bucks are at the feeder. One half rack spike and one dandy of a buck. Just woke from a dead sleep and though, I'll go watch the deer cam.LOL
Thanks for sharing. I check it out from time to time.
Monster buck with a big time limp on there the other night.....
Few bucks hangin out this afternoon...sorry if I missed this but does anyone know where this is located?

LOL at debunks …. one bait/feed station, like one hunting season, is not a trend. Same with one study — especially one from a different state, with vastly different habitat.
Try either of those in the more typical heavily hunted and fragmented farmland region of Wisconsin.
If there was a cam in a heavily-hunted area, it would show a fawn or yearling here and there by day the majority of the bow/gun season, and almost everything else at night — including some trophy bucks. Would you then state that it proves that feeding and pressure make deer, esp. mature bucks, nocturnal?
Oh they are filling it up with the golden goodness!
I could watch this all day. I love watching deer!
Both gimpy bucks on together at around 7:00
This is cool but...
I think anybody who watches the activity here on a huge private sanctuary at a bait site that cannot be hunted (legally) and then says that this situation is definitive proof of how baited whitetails act in every other situation in every other location is kidding themselves to say the least...
You nailed it Mike, but explaining it to the guy who posted the nonsense is of no use; he's in his own world.
So easy to understand why RC never gets a decent buck year after year hunting some of the best area's in WI. I would think if he watches this cam long enough he might not come unhinged when a 115 class comes along next year. So maybe this cam does serve a purpose for him.
Oh really...!!!!!!
Gee we thought that placing bait in the woods made deer sleep all day and stay awake all night.
But come to find out... they are not sleeping all day afterall... they are actually awake, they're just awake somewhere else, what a breakthrough!!! And they are not nocturnal... they are just coming to the bait and feeding after dark...
So all you need to do is find those places where people are not and where the deer are on their feet in those protected places away from people and put out your bait pile and you will have deer feeding all day long.
Wow, that is genius RC! It's no wonder you kill so many big bucks...
Two big bruisers were sparring under the feeder just a minute ago. Looked like they were testing each other.
Tonight before dark was the best. Rewind and take a look.
One has of the bucks has shed one side already.
