Bucks sink?

I'm scouting a spot very close to a deep current creek. If I double lung a buck and he jumps the creek he will likely die before reaching the other side. So my question is whether he will float as the stream takes him down stream? I assume he'd eventually hit a log jam or shallow turn in the creek for recovery.

Anyone know for sure? Thanks
