adirondack rabbits?

anyone know anything about rabbits up north?
i go to the Lake Placid / Whiteface area a few times every winter to ski, but i'm wondering if i could throw on the snowshoes and get some bunnies while i'm up there.
my first thought is that the area is more mountain/forest than fields, so maybe there aren't alot of rabbits, but its big country, so if anyone has any thoughts i'd love to hear them!
and actually, same question but for coyotes and foxes. anyone in the high peaks region getting rabbits or yotes?
if so, any hints on where?

use to go to the black lake area with my dogs and hunt the white rabbits. but without a dog or two would be hard hunting as the white rabbits run fast and far..

I've never been in that area but I'm just inside the ADK Park.Pretty decent rabbit/hare pop here.Mostly I do the hare distress calling thing going for coyotes and such vs hunting rabbits.
