My buddy and I are heading down to PA for the first time Oct 25-31. We are staying at a lodge in Penfield just outside of Moshannon State Forest. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated Rob

Let me guess. You're staying at the Little General Lodge?I live about 10 minutes from there. Most people including the owner of that place claim that there's no deer or at least he used to.In any event, the hunting is still excellent in my book.He should be able to put you some deer because there's really no shortage.I generally hunt near recently timbered areas but those areas only last for about 6 or 7 years. If there's a big mast crop.like this year, the deer will concentrate in areas with acorns.Otherwise, hunt where there's sufficient browse.

Well Dougy I was going to tell him to travel a little Further north. Give him some insight to the area I hunt. Since I don't hunt the Moshannon!
