Just wondering if you folks thought the reduced antlerless harvest and ending the January season has helped. Do you think deer numbers will climb in the next few years?

yes because the winter kill should be at a normal level this year, they cant have fawns if they are dead.Twinning brings numbers back fast. The population should have some natural immunity to EHD for a few years if they survived it.Should recover by Fall 2016 imo.

Ending the late antlerless season should really help. Too many shed antlered bucks killed in the past.

Yes. But the DNR have something planned for Allamakee county. They are having public comment meetings in Harpers Ferry and Waukon concerning chronic wasting disease. I think these meetings are on the 17th. A week day so not many people will show. I'm sure they already know what they are going to do, and it won't be good for Allamakee county deer.
