To carry on with the good photos: we took these August 16, 2014, at 7:40 AM, on the second rails-to-trails bridge over the Castleman River outside of Confluence, PA. I was carrying gear and hydration on my mountain bike for Marathon Gal as she was training for Presque Isle.
This eagle could be either an immature Golden Eagle or a Bald Eagle, from what a couple of ornithologists said, who viewed all of our photos.
We were arms length away. From what we were told, Eagles have no real fear of humans when they are young, AND if they are in hunting mode. Directly under the bridge were some young ducks, and we could see fish in the clear waters.
Being that it's 22 degrees outside, and to compliment Jeff's posting, hope you enjoy these fantastic photos of nature, and the promises of better weather to come.

Sorry the photos are a bit out of sequence. The Eagle watched us as we approached; we "tip toed" up to it...it just kept looking at us, then it alofted to 20 feet further away on the bridge. We approached again, again it watched us to an arm's length distance, then alofted back to where he was first sitting!
Being in the "outdoors" in the morning is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!
