Dr. Deer's Link
If you really miss it, you can see in on my link, History's website. I haven't seen it air in a while, and they haven't ordered any more episodes so I believe it's dead.
I can hear the sigh of relief all the way out here in California. Lots of people here didn't like the portrayal of hunters, which in retrospect, I understand. I think a new show has to go a little over the top to "hook" viewers, and it was my hope that it would be picked up and I could get a little input down the line. But we never developed beyond those first ten episodes.
I got involved to support my lifelong friends, and I don't regret it. I had some great experiences. Got a buck with my black widow on camera (didn't air that) and weathered Hurricane Sandy in a rickety barn. I may be invited to another reality show soon (don't worry, nothing to do with CT or with hunting) so in the end, it's good I am available for that and have no conflict with History Channel. I continue to support the Connecticut hunting community and our image as hunters whenever possible. Dr. Deer for president!
Dr. Deer you got to show me where you hunt!!!
Just knock on doors in Darien and New Canaan. Once you get a foot in the door, ask the land owner to ask their neighbors if you can hunt there also. The answer isn't always yes, but at least you will learn who is pro hunting, who isn't inclined and who is very against it. That way you can try to keep your deer from running into a property that is sure to be trouble.
I think the show went off the air, and wasn't renewed for a second season. It kind of painted bow hunters in a negative way. The episode where the deer died on the pool cover, was the killer.
Rob Lucas, is a physician assistant and lives in Norwalk. He used to be the guest cast member who flew in from LA.
He's also mentioned in a book, about hunting suburban bucks. The Amazon link is below:

The guy is a very good bow shooter! Check him out on Youtube!
Ron
...or you can check the post above yours and ask him.
hey rob how is the rest of the gang Arky, John and the other two?
I am hunting in CT about as much as I have every year since moving to cali in '08. Probably 20-something days afield. John and Lou come down a lot, the others less often than before. Deer camp is unchanged. Hopefully it never will.
I've known Mike for my entire life. Somehow we trapped and killed a woodchuck in the snow in the 70's.
